Job summary

edari is assisting a leading Dubai-based semi-government group to hire a Senior Manager – Financial Reporting & GL. You will oversee financial reporting, statutory reporting, and the general ledger across a multi-entity environment, ensuring IFRS compliance and robust governance.

The role requires a qualified accountant with Big 4 background, strong stakeholder management, and experience leading finance teams. 6-month renewable contract in the United Arab Emirates, Dubai.

Qualifications

Job description

I am supporting a leading Dubai-based semi-government group in the appointment of a Senior Manager – Financial Reporting & GL to join their senior finance function.

This is a highly technical and senior financial reporting position suited to a Qualified Accountant with a strong Big 4 background and proven experience across financial reporting, statutory accounts, GL and IFRS within a complex group environment.

The ideal candidate will bring a combination of technical accounting expertise, strong financial reporting knowledge and senior stakeholder management skills, with the ability to oversee reporting activities across multiple entities and ensure high standards of accuracy, governance and compliance.

This is on a 6 month renewable contract basis.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead and oversee financial reporting and statutory reporting activities across the group
• Provide oversight of the General Ledger and month-end/year-end close process
• Review financial statements and ensure compliance with IFRS and applicable reporting requirements
• Oversee balance sheet reconciliations, journals, accruals, provisions and intercompany accounting
• Support group reporting and consolidation activities across multiple entities
• Review and challenge accounting treatments and complex financial reporting matters
• Manage relationships with external auditors and coordinate audit requirements
• Ensure financial reporting is accurate, timely and delivered in line with internal and statutory deadlines
• Strengthen financial controls, reporting processes and governance across the function
• Lead, mentor and develop finance professionals within the reporting team
• Partner with senior finance stakeholders and business units on financial reporting matters
• Identify opportunities to improve reporting processes, controls and efficiency

Requirements

• Qualified Accountant – CA / ACA / ACCA / CPA or equivalent
• Big 4 experience is essential – Deloitte, PwC, EY or KPMG
• Significant experience across financial reporting, statutory reporting and General Ledger
• Strong technical knowledge of IFRS and financial statements
• Proven experience within a large, complex or multi-entity organisation
• Strong understanding of consolidation, intercompany accounting and month-end close
• Experience managing or leading finance teams
• Strong audit and external stakeholder management experience
• Excellent analytical, communication and leadership skills
• Ability to operate at both a technical and strategic level within a senior finance function
