Job summary

Global Software Solutions Group seeks an experienced Data Architect to analyze and improve data models, building an organizational data model linking to financial institutions. You will reduce redundancy, enable data migration and facilitate data retrieval, aligning with regulatory requirements.

The role collaborates with data scientists and DBAs to design critical data models that support decision making and customer experience, while maintaining data integrity across systems and platforms.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in a related field.
• Minimum 10+ years in data architecture and data modelling.
• Experience with financial services data and banking systems.
• Knowledge of DB technologies such as Snowflake, RDBMS or HDFS.
• Ability to influence at all levels and communicate clearly.
• Data certification such as CMDP or CIMP is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Define conceptual, logical and physical data models to support core data.
• Develop core data model in the Enterprise Data Management platform with data quality and security.
• Develop modelling standards.
• Oversee development of conceptual models for banks tech platforms (data lake and analytics).
• Maintain knowledge of banking regulations and data practices.
• Train BSD staff to use and understand data platforms and processes.
• Be the ambassador in internal and external customer transactions and communications.

JOB PURPOSE

Responsible for analyzing and improving current data models and building an organizational data model that represents the CB and its relationships to the Licensed Financial Institutions. Focused on reducing data redundancy, improving data migration, or facilitating data retrieval. Works with other professionals like data scientists and database administrators to design critical data models that help the organizations decision-making and customer experience processes. Understands how CBUAE uses its core data and maintaining data integrity by eliminating redundancy.

Key Responsibilities

Core Responsibilities

• Support informed and data-driven decision making by defining conceptual, logical and physical data models to support the core data for departments in the Central Bank and its subsidiaries
• Develop and implement the core data model in the new Enterprise Data Management platform, improving quality of data, integrity, access, and security
• Develop modelling standards
• Oversee the development of conceptual models to deliver banks tech platforms, including data lake and analytics, working with data modelers and business leads
• Maintain up-to-date personal knowledge and understanding of banking and financial laws and regulations along with practices of international organizations
• Ensure examiners and other BSD staff are trained and skilled at using and understanding the data platforms and processes
• Embody the brand and be an ambassador in all internal & external customer transactions, communications and process applications

Self-Management Responsibilities

• Defines performance goals at the start of the year in discussion with the reporting manager and ensures that the goals are achieved during the course of the year
• Identifies training and development requirements for self & team with the reporting manager to ensure that the required trainings are arranged and attended
• Strives to achieve the highest levels of proficiency on all the competencies and skills required to perform the role
• Keeps abreast of professional developments, new techniques and current issues through continued education and professional growth

Threshold Qualifications

Years & Nature of Experience

• Min 10+ yrs in Data Architecture, Data Modelling, inc min 5 yrs in Financial Services
• Experience in one or more DB technologies, vendors and models, including RDBMS, Snowflake, Star schemas or HDFS
• Experience understanding business needs, gathering requirements, then modelling that
• Knowledge & Experience of a variety of Financial and Banking systems & Applications
• Ability to influence effectively at all levels
• Strong communication skills, both verbal and written
• A data certification such as CMDP or CIMP is a plus
