Job summary

Roads and Transport Authority in Dubai seeks a governance professional to support the implementation and continuous improvement of project, program, and portfolio governance practices.

Qualifications

• 6+ years of experience with a master’s degree (8+ years with a bachelor’s) in a related field.

Job description

Job Purpose

Support the implementation, monitoring, and continuous enhancement of RTA’s project, program, and portfolio governance practices by coordinating governance activities, tracking portfolio performance, preparing analytical reports, facilitating risk and dependency management, and ensuring adherence to approved methodologies, standards, and best practices to support successful delivery of strategic initiatives.

Strategy

• Support the implementation and continuous improvement of project, program, and portfolio management frameworks, methodologies, templates, and governance practices across RTA.
• Contribute to the development and review of policies, procedures, standards, and guidelinesrelated to project and portfolio management.
• Conduct benchmarking studies and research on project management best practices and emerging trends and prepare recommendations for improvement.
• Support alignment of projects, programs, and initiatives with RTA’s strategic objectives and corporate priorities.
• Prepare portfolio performance reports, dashboards, and analytical studies to support management decision-making.

Operations

• Coordinate project and portfolio governance activities including portfolio reviews, steering committee meetings, and governance forums.
• Monitor project performance, schedules, risks, dependencies, and resource utilization and highlight issues requiring management attention.
• Support the preparation of executive reports, presentations, committee papers, and portfolio status updates for senior management.
• Facilitate coordination among project managers, departments, and stakeholders to support effective project delivery and issue resolution.
• Track implementation of project governance requirements and ensure compliance with approved methodologies and standards.
• Maintain project and portfolio repositories, records, lessons learned, and governance documentation.
• Support benefits realization tracking by collecting and analyzing project outcomes and performance information.
• Monitor portfolio risks and dependencies and follow up on mitigation actions with relevant stakeholders.
• Assist in the review of project business cases, project plans, and governance deliverables to ensure completeness and compliance.

Product/Process Improvement

• Analyze project performance data and identify opportunities to improve governance processes, project controls, and portfolio management practices.
• Support enhancement of project management tools, templates, reporting mechanisms, and governance systems.
• Contribute to lessons learned reviews and knowledge-sharing initiatives to strengthen project management capabilities across RTA.
• Recommend process improvements that enhance project delivery effectiveness, transparency, and stakeholder satisfaction.
• Support automation and digitalization initiatives related to project and portfolio management processes.

Job Qualifications & Requirements

Education:

Bachelor's/master’s in business administration or its equivalent

Experience

6+ years in case of master’s degree (8+ years in case of bachelor’s degree) in related field
