Job summary

Callsign is seeking an experienced Java engineer to help design and operate scalable microservices with a strong security focus. You will contribute to architecture reviews, implement robust authentication and data handling, and drive incident response with instrumentation and on-call ownership.

You'll mentor peers, maintain high testing standards, and work across Kubernetes, Docker, AWS, and CI/CD to deliver reliable software in a fast-growing security company.

Qualifications

• 8+ years of Java 17+ experience with Spring Boot and Spring Security.
• Designs and operates microservices with API versioning and tests across unit, integration, and load.
• Strong MySQL data modeling and query design under load.
• Security-first design including OWASP Top 10 and secrets management.
• Experience deploying on Kubernetes with Docker, Helm, AWS and CI/CD.

Responsibilities

• Write production-ready code and contribute to the deployment pipeline.
• Design low-level designs for engineers and participate in architecture reviews.
• Threat-model features and design robust auth and data handling from the start.
• Instrument, diagnose faults, and drive root-cause analysis on-call.
• Mentor engineers, uphold test standards, and interview candidates.
