Utopiadesign is seeking a Senior Site Engineer to lead on-site construction of a luxury boutique hotel in Dubai. You will bridge remote design teams and on-site work, ensuring quality, adherence to plans, and project performance within time and budget.

Ideal candidates show proactivity, attention to detail, and the ability to manage teams independently, taking ownership to deliver work of exceptional standard on a landmark project.

Qualifications

• 6+ years across construction site functions (Inspector/Project Engineer/Field Engineer/etc).
• Completed at least 2 full-cycle projects in Dubai, ideally in hospitality.
• Proven track record in hospitality or high-end residential construction.
• Proficiency in English for coordination with international management and site teams.

Responsibilities

• Oversee all on-site activities, ensuring compliance with local codes, safety regulations and environmental standards.
• Conduct regular site inspections, address safety and quality concerns, ensure work follows plans and specifications.
• Collaborate with Project Manager and Head of Construction to execute the plan, manage schedules, allocate resources and oversee procurement.
• Maintain high quality standards reflecting design detail and craftsmanship.
• Monitor site expenses to align with approved budget and seek cost-effective solutions.
• Coordinate subcontractors and on-site teams to sustain workflow and address challenges.

Job description

We're looking for a capable and hands-on Senior Site Engineer to take the lead on the ground for the construction of a high-end boutique hotel in Dubai. If you're not already based there, relocation will be necessary.

In this opportunity, you'll be the key link between our remote design and project teams and the day-to-day progress on site. You'll be responsible for ensuring that construction meets our high standards of quality, follows agreed plans and specifications, and stays within time and budget constraints.

We're looking for someone who is proactive, detail-oriented, and confident in managing teams and site activity independently — someone who can take ownership and ensure the delivery reflects the level of excellence expected by our clients.

What you will do

• Oversee all on-site activities, ensuring full compliance with local building codes, safety regulations, and environmental standards.
• Conduct regular site inspections, proactively addressing safety and quality concerns, and ensuring construction follows approved plans, drawings, and specifications.
• Collaborate closely with the Project Manager and Head of Construction to execute the construction plan, manage schedules, allocate resources, and oversee material procurement.
• Maintain high standards of quality control, ensuring all work reflects the level of detail and craftsmanship defined in the design.
• Monitor construction expenses at site level to ensure alignment with the approved budget, identifying cost-effective solutions without compromising on quality.
• Coordinate subcontractors, skilled labor, and on-site teams to maintain steady workflow, proactively address challenges, and foster a collaborative environment.
• Step in for the Head of Construction when needed, including attending meetings and contributing to key decisions.
• Act as the main point of contact between the construction site and the wider project team, including the Head of Construction.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering or Architecture.
• Minimum of 6 years across construction site functions (e.g. Inspector, Project Engineer, Field Engineer, Site Supervisor, Assistant Project Manager, Construction Manager, Superintendent).
• Completed at least 2 full-cycle projects in Dubai, ideally in hospitality.
• Proven track record in hospitality or high-end residential construction.
• Ability to provide clear examples of resolving technical or logistical challenges during past construction projects.
• Proficiency in construction software and tools such as AutoCAD, Revit, MS Project, and other relevant applications.
• Strong knowledge of local building codes, regulations, and construction practices essential to successful delivery.
• Proficiency in English is required for communication with our international-based management team and some site teams.
