About the Role:
Key roles and responsibilities:
- Lead coordination with other disciplines.
- Assist the Resident Engineer with contractual duties on site.
- Process contract documents and assist in contract administration.
- Develop, modify, and review production drawings and construction documents.
- Update and correct design documents.
- Serve as an architectural resource for the Design department.
- Resolve technical engineering problems within the discipline(s) and coordinate solutions to ensure progress.
- Inform the project manager of any technical issues affecting construction progress or quality.
- Monitor interior architectural works for compliance with contract documents and procedures.
- Review and process shop drawings and technical submittals.
- Respond to RFIs related to interior and architecture.
- Review construction submittals from inception to closeout, including contractor installation methods, shop drawings, material proposals, and subcontractor proposals.
- Monitor procurement and deliveries to support construction schedules.
- Conduct site inspections to ensure adherence to drawings, specifications, safety, and schedule.
- Lead snagging and desnagging processes for project completion.
- Attend project progress and technical meetings.
- Draft site/engineer instructions and communicate with the Project Manager.
- Advise on variation costs claimed by contractors.
- Oversee architectural and inspection activities, ensuring compliance with contractual and quality standards.
- Ensure quality control procedures are followed and seek continuous improvement.
- Collaborate to eliminate hazards and promote safety and environmental health.
- Review and interpret discipline drawings and specifications for accuracy and current revision levels.
- Support junior staff with inspection requests.
- Perform additional responsibilities as appropriate.
Technical skills and experience required:
- Degree in Architecture or related field.
- Minimum 8-10 years of postgraduate experience, with at least 5 years on large projects.
- Strong technical knowledge and problem-solving skills on site.
- Proficiency in AutoCAD, Revit, SketchUp, 3D MAX, Photoshop, MS Project or Primavera, PowerPoint, and Office Suite.
- Good knowledge of building codes.
- UAE Driving License preferred.
- Authority registration is a plus.
- Ability to manage and coordinate a team of moderate size and complexity.
