About the Role:
Key roles and responsibilities:
- Lead the coordination process with other disciplines.
- Assist the Resident Engineer in performing contractual duties on site.
- Process contract documents & assist with contract administration.
- Develop, modify, and review production drawings and construction documents.
- Correct and update design documents.
- Serve as an architectural resource for the Design department.
- Provide solutions for technical engineering problems within the assigned disciplines; coordinate application of solutions to ensure progress on site.
- Advise the project manager of any technical aspects of the architectural works that may affect construction progress and quality.
- Monitor interior architectural works for conformance with contract documents and procedures.
- Review and process all shop drawings and architectural technical submittals.
- Answer RFIs related to interior and architecture.
- Review construction submittals from project inception to closeout, including contractors' installation method statements, shop drawings, material proposals, and subcontractor proposals.
- Monitor procurement and deliveries to support construction schedules.
- Conduct site inspections for adherence to shop drawings, specifications, safety, and quality standards.
- Lead snagging and desnagging processes to ensure project completion.
- Attend project site progress and technical meetings.
- Prepare and issue site/engineers instructions as needed.
- Advise the Project Manager on variation costs claimed by contractors.
- Oversee architects and inspectors to ensure compliance with contractual obligations and quality standards.
- Ensure project quality control procedures are followed and seek continuous improvement.
- Collaborate to eliminate hazards and ensure safety and environmental standards.
- Review and interpret discipline design drawings and specifications for accuracy and current revision levels.
- Support juniors through works inspection requests and material inspection requests.
- Perform other responsibilities as appropriate.
Technical skills and experience required:
- Degree in Architecture or related field.
- Minimum 8-10 years postgraduate experience and at least 5 years on large projects.
- Strong technical knowledge with on-site design issue resolution skills.
- Proficiency in AutoCAD, Revit, SketchUp, 3D MAX, Photoshop, MS Project or Primavera, PowerPoint, and MS Office suite.
- Good knowledge of building codes.
- Authority registration preferred.
- Ability to manage and coordinate specialized activities or teams of moderate size and complexity.
- UAE Driving License.
