Job summary

AESG is seeking a Senior Security Consultant to lead security design across large-scale Middle East projects, integrating physical, electronic, and operational security with architectural intent.

You will drive security-by-design, coordinate with multidisciplinary teams, engage clients, and ensure regulatory approvals (SIRA/MOI/HCIS) while delivering high-quality design solutions and project leadership across complex developments.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in security engineering, security risk management or related field.
• 5-10 years of experience in security design engineering or security risk management.
• Proven experience delivering large-scale built environment projects in the Middle East.
• Familiarity with regional security regulations and authority approval processes (e.g., SIRA, HCIS, MOI).

Responsibilities

• Security Strategy & Masterplanning: Develop holistic security strategies for complex developments (mixed-use, transport hubs, infrastructure).
• Conduct security risk assessments aligned with regional and international standards.
• Advise clients and design teams on security-by-design from concept to operation.
• Technical Security Design & Engineering: Prepare concept, schematic, and detailed security system designs (video surveillance, access control, intrusion detection, perimeter protection).
• Develop technical specifications and drawings with multidisciplinary teams.
• Ensure designs align with codes, standards and local authority requirements (SIRA, MOI, ADMCC, HCIS).
• Physical Security Design & Engineering: Prepare physical security designs including perimeter protection and barriers.
• Prepare documentation coordinating with architecture and MEP teams.
• Client Engagement & Compliance: Act as trusted advisor and support approvals from authorities.
• Project Delivery: Manage multiple projects, oversee construction and commissioning of security systems.
• Business Development: Contribute to proposals and stay updated on security technologies.

JOB PURPOSE

Responsible for leading the planning, design, and implementation of comprehensive security solutions across large-scale built environment projects in the Middle East region. The role ensures that physical, electronic, and operational security measures are strategically integrated into developments to protect people, assets, and operations while meeting local regulatory requirements and international best practices.

Working within a multidisciplinary consultancy environment, the Senior Security Consultant provides technical leadership across all project stages from pre-concept through to tender documentation, construction support, and commissioning. The role ensures that security-by-design principles are embedded within the overall design process and that all physical and electronic security measures are functional, efficient, and seamlessly integrated into the architectural and engineering intent.

QUALIFICATION / EXPERIENCE

• Bachelor's degree in security engineering, security risk management or related field.

• 5-10 years of experience in security design engineering, or security risk management.

• Proven experience delivering large scale built environment projects within the Middle East region.

• Familiarity with regional security regulations and authority approval processes (e.g., SIRA, HCIS, MOI).

• Strong knowledge of Security Risk Management methodologies, Security by Design principles, and design integration with other disciplines.

• Excellent communication, client engagement, and technical report writing skills

GENERAL EXPECTANCY

The Senior Security Consultant is expected to demonstrate a high level of technical competence, professionalism, and leadership in delivering security design solutions for complex and large-scale developments. The role requires proactive engagement with clients, design partners, and contractors to ensure that security requirements are effectively integrated, coordinated, and delivered to the highest standards.

RESPONSIBILITIES

Security Strategy & Masterplanning.

• Develop holistic security strategies for complex developments such as mixed-use communities, transport hubs, critical infrastructure, and public realm projects.

• Conduct security risk assessments aligned with regional and international standards.

• Advise clients and design teams on security-by-design principles from concept through to operation.

Technical Security Design & Engineering

• Prepare concept, schematic, and detailed security system designs including video surveillance, access control, intrusion detection, perimeter protection, security lighting, and integrated command and control solutions.

• Develop technical specifications, drawings, and design documentation in coordination with multidisciplinary design teams (architecture, MEP, ICT, landscape).

• Ensure designs align with relevant codes, standards, and local authority requirements (e.g., SIRA, MOI, ADMCC, HCIS).

Physical Security Design & Engineering

• Prepare concept, schematic, and detailed physical security designs including perimeter protection, walls, doors, gates, turnstiles, and vehicle security barriers.

• Prepare specifications, drawings, and documentation, ensuring coordination with architectural and engineering disciplines.

• Ensure that structural and architectural security measures are integrated without compromising design intent or operational efficiency.

Client Engagement & Compliance

• Act as the trusted advisor for clients and stakeholders on all physical and technical security matters.
• Support approvals from local authorities (SIRA, MOI, HCIS) for security designs.
• Deliver presentations, reports, and workshops articulating security design rationale and compliance.

Project Delivery

• Manage multiple projects, ensuring timely, coordinated, and high quality deliverables.
• Review contractor submittals, conduct site inspections, and oversee construction and commissioning of physical and technical security systems, and structural security elements.

Business Development

• Contribute to proposals, fee estimates, and bid presentations for security consulting services.
• Stay up-to-date on emerging physical and electronic security technologies, as well as regional security trends, standards, and regulations, to continuously enhance the service offering and deliver cutting-edge solutions to clients.
• Build and maintain relationships with security system manufacturers, suppliers, and integrators.

Professional Development

• Maintain and actively pursue Continuing Professional Development (CPD) to ensure up-to-date knowledge of security engineering best practices, standards, technologies, and regional regulations.
