Job summary

AESG is seeking an Electrical Design Engineer to support project delivery in Dubai. You will contribute to design calculations, drawings, and specification development for building services, under guidance from senior engineers.

Requirements include a Bachelor’s in electrical engineering and 4-5 years of UAE/GCC experience, with strong AutoCAD and Revit MEP skills, plus knowledge of ASHRAE, CIBSE, NFPA codes.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering.
• 4-5 years of experience in Electrical design engineering for building services.
• Strong knowledge of UAE / GCC codes and regulations.
• Proficiency in AutoCAD, Revit MEP and electrical calculation softwares.
• Expertise in ASHRAE, CIBSE, NFPA, and local electrical building codes.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills in electrical system design and optimization.

Responsibilities

• Prepare electrical engineering designs, calculations, drawings, and assist in the specification preparation for assigned projects.
• Develop and coordinate electrical engineering models and drawings using relevant software.
• Coordinate with internal disciplines, clients, consultants, and contractors to support project delivery and address technical matters.
• Prepare technical reports, schedules, and other project documentation in accordance with project requirements.
• Review contractor material submissions and shop drawings, escalating concerns or deviations to senior engineers where required.
• Participate in project coordination meetings and assist in identifying and resolving design conflicts.
• Monitor the progress of assigned tasks to ensure timely delivery and compliance with project objectives and quality standards.
• Support senior engineers in the delivery of projects and implementation of project requirements.
• Stay updated on industry developments, applicable codes, standards, and best practices relevant to electrical engineering.
• Ensure all assigned work is carried out in accordance with company procedures, project requirements, and applicable regulations.

Job Purpose

• Support the successful delivery of projects by undertaking electrical engineering design, calculation and coordination activities. Deliver assigned project tasks and contribute to the development of practical, efficient, and compliant engineering solutions under the guidance of senior engineers.

GENERAL EXPECTANCY

• Manage and supervise junior electrical engineers and electrical modelers for the assigned task.
• Coordinate and review the modelers outputs and QAQC procedures.
• Demonstrates sound technical knowledge and developing competencies within the discipline.
• Report to project supervisor on daily basis for alignment and progress update.
• Able to manage assigned tasks and deliverables with minimal supervision.
• Works effectively within multidisciplinary teams and proactively contributes to resolving technical and coordination issues.
