Job summary

WSP Middle East seeks a Senior Engineer - SCADA & Technology to join our Infrastructure team in Abu Dhabi. You will design and coordinate SCADA, OT, and smart infrastructure across major projects in the UAE and Middle East, interfacing with water, utilities, transport, and smart city initiatives.

The role requires strong technical leadership, multidisciplinary coordination, and adherence to local standards, with a focus on evolving SCADA/OT architectures and cybersecurity practices.

Qualifications

• 8–12 years post-graduate experience in SCADA/OT and smart infrastructure.
• Working towards or holding membership with a relevant professional institution.
• Experience delivering technology/SCADA for infrastructure, water, utilities, transport, or smart city projects.
• Experience preparing authority approval documentation in UAE.
• Strong understanding of SCADA architecture, networks, and control integration.
• Knowledge of Modbus, DNP3, IEC 60870-5-104, IEC 61850, MQTT, OPC UA.

Responsibilities

• Deliver SCADA, OT, telecom, and smart infrastructure designs across major projects.
• Prepare SCADA design packages: architecture diagrams, networks, control centres, interfaces.
• Coordinate with water, electrical, mechanical, civil, ICT, and smart city teams.
• Support project delivery and develop engineering standards.
• Ensure designs meet UAE regulatory requirements and local standards.
• Attend client meetings and present technical solutions.
