Job summary

AI71 is seeking a senior, commercially-minded lawyer to own customer-facing and revenue-generating contracts and high-value engagements. From day one you will draft, negotiate and partner with the business, with growth to mentoring juniors and shaping the function as the team scales.

You will work with Product, Engineering, Commercial, Procurement and the CEO Office, building a modern, technology-enabled legal function and guiding data, AI, and governance matters in a fast-paced environment.

Qualifications

• Broad commercial contracting experience across the lifecycle (frameworks, SaaS, NDAs, SOWs).
• Able to draft, review and negotiate complex agreements with senior stakeholders.
• Strong ethics, risk awareness and business-oriented advice.

Responsibilities

• Own revenue and customer-facing contracts and lead verticals across ai71.
• Advise on high-stakes matters, including complex engagements and potential M&A.
• Support governance, data, AI terms and translate requirements for product teams.
• Help build templates, playbooks, and a self-service contract framework.
• Provide mentoring to junior lawyers and supervise as the team grows.
• Manage external counsel relationships and deputise for the GC as needed.
• Handle disputes and oversee cost-efficient resolution with counsel.
