Job Title: Resident Engineer
Location: Abu Dhabi, United Arab Emirates
Responsibilities
- Lead the on-site supervision and management of infrastructure and utilities works, including roads, drainage, water supply, electrical, telecommunications, and other civil works.
- Oversee and coordinate the activities of site engineers, inspectors, and technical staff, ensuring high standards of safety, quality, and performance.
- Review and approve construction plans, method statements, and material submittals to ensure compliance with project specifications and local regulations.
- Monitor contractor performance, resolve technical issues, and ensure timely project delivery within budget.
- Conduct regular site inspections, quality audits, and risk assessments to identify and mitigate potential project delays or safety risks.
- Prepare and present detailed progress reports, technical assessments, and project status updates to senior management and clients.
- Foster strong working relationships with clients, contractors, local authorities, and other stakeholders to ensure smooth project execution.
- Ensure strict adherence to health, safety, and environmental (HSE) regulations and project safety plans.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering or a related field (Master's degree preferred).
- Minimum of 20 years of experience in infrastructure and utilities supervision, with at least 10 years in a senior resident engineer or site supervision role within a construction consultancy in Abu Dhabi.
- In-depth knowledge of Abu Dhabi's regulatory frameworks, municipal authority standards, and site inspection procedures.
- Strong technical expertise in civil infrastructure, utilities, and roadworks.
- Excellent leadership, communication, and problem-solving skills.
- Professional registration (e.g., Chartered Engineer, Professional Engineer) is an advantage.
