Job Description
We are looking for a highly skilled Senior Quantity Surveyor with strong pre-contract experience to join our head office team in Abu Dhabi . The ideal candidate will have a minimum of 10 years of experience working with construction consultancy firms on heavy civil infrastructure projects such as roads, bridges, utilities, marine, or industrial infrastructure. The role will be focused on cost planning, tender documentation, BOQ preparation, procurement support , and early-stage commercial management.
Responsibilities
- Lead the preparation of Bills of Quantities (BOQ), cost estimates, and cost plans for heavy civil projects.
- Support preparation and review of tender and contract documentation in line with project specifications and FIDIC forms.
- Conduct market rate analysis, benchmarking, and risk-based estimating.
- Assist in managing the tendering process, including issuing RFQs, reviewing tender returns, and preparing tender evaluations.
- Coordinate with design and engineering teams to align quantity take-offs and specifications.
- Prepare and update cost reports, budgets, and procurement strategies during the design and tender stages.
- Support value engineering, life cycle costing, and feasibility assessments.
- Liaise with clients, consultants, and contractors to ensure clear commercial direction is maintained throughout pre-contract stages.
Qualifications- Bachelor's Degree in Quantity Surveying, Civil Engineering, or a related field.
- Minimum 10 years of post-qualification experience, with recent experience in Abu Dhabi or the UAE.
- Proven experience working with construction consultants on heavy civil infrastructure projects.
- Solid understanding of FIDIC and other standard forms of contract.
- Prior experience working in a head office or design phase environment focused on pre-contract deliverables.
- Strong command of cost planning and estimating tools (e.g., CostX, CATO, Excel).
- Excellent knowledge of local market rates, Abu Dhabi authority requirements, and procurement procedures.
- Detail-oriented with strong analytical, organizational, and communication skills.
- Ability to work collaboratively in multidisciplinary teams under tight deadlines.
- MRICS or pursuing RICS accreditation (preferred).
