About the Company:
Alef Group is a pioneer in developing premier lifestyle communities, destinations, and experiences through investment and strategic joint ventures, seeking a creative, highly experienced and detail-oriented Senior Quantity Surveyor (MEP) preferably from a Real Estate Developer environment to join our growing team based in Sharjah.
Job Purpose:
- Prepare detailed and accurate cost estimates and budgets for electrical works across all project phases.
- Develop and review Bills of Quantities (BOQs) specific to electrical packages.
- Evaluate and certify subcontractor interim payments, variations, and claims in line with contract terms.
- Monitor and report on project budgets, cost forecasts, and cash flows.
- Oversee the performance of MEP subcontractors and ensure contractual compliance.
- Participate in tender evaluations, value engineering, and negotiate contracts with vendors and subcontractors.
- Provide commercial advice and risk analysis during design development and project planning stages.
- Collaborate closely with internal teams (Design, Procurement, Projects, Finance) for project coordination and control.
- Administer change orders, claims, and settlement of final accounts in a timely and accurate manner.
- Ensure full compliance with local authority codes, international standards, and company quality procedures.
EDUCATIONAL QUALIFICATION, WORK EXPERIENCE, AND SKILLS REQUIRED:
Educational Qualification & Certifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering or equivalent.
- Professional certification such as PMP, MRICS, or equivalent is preferred.
Work Experience:
- Minimum 8–10 years of relevant experience in Quantity Surveying (MEP) roles.
- Proven experience with real estate developers or Tier-1 construction firms in the UAE is highly desirable.
Skills required:
- In-depth knowledge of electrical systems in high-rise residential, commercial, and mixed-use developments.
- Strong understanding of MEP integration and coordination with civil and architectural works.
- Proficient in contract administration using FIDIC and knowledge of UAE construction laws.
- Hands-on experience with QS tools/software such as CCS Candy, CostX, and AutoCAD.
- Advanced skills in MS Excel and cost reporting.
- Strong analytical, negotiation, and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to work under pressure and manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
- Experience in fast-track and design & build project delivery models.
