Responsibilities
  • Prepare detailed cost estimates for construction projects and assess project viability.
  • Oversee the procurement process including the selection of contractors and suppliers.
  • Ensure compliance with industry standards, regulatory requirements, and project specifications.
  • Develop and manage project budgets, keeping track of all expenditures and revenues.
  • Negotiate contracts and ensure contractual terms adhere to business and legal regulations.
  • Conduct regular site visits to monitor project progress and verify contractor claims.
  • Analyze project risks and implement strategies to mitigate financial impacts.
  • Liaise with the engineering and design teams to ensure cost-effectiveness.
  • Prepare financial reports detailing project costs and forecasts for stakeholders.
  • Maintain accurate records and documentation of all financial transactions related to the projects.
  • Mentor and guide junior quantity surveyors and coordinate team activities.
  • Initiate cost-saving strategies and value engineering techniques to enhance profitability.

Requirements
  • Bachelor s degree in Quantity Surveying, Construction Management, or a related field.
  • A minimum of eight years of experience in quantity surveying or a similar capacity.
  • Professional membership with chartered bodies such as RICS or CIOB is preferred.
  • Extensive knowledge of construction costs, contracts, procurement processes, and industry standards.
  • Proficiency in cost estimation software and financial analysis tools is required.
  • Excellent negotiation, communication, and interpersonal skills are essential for this role.
  • Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.
