Senior Quality Engineer

JOB DESCRIPTION

Wood is currently recruiting for a Senior Quality Engineer to join its UAE business unit with extensive experience in the oil and gas petrochemical industry.

This is a full-time onsite position in Dubai, UAE, with travel requirement.

RESPONSIBILITIES

This is an exciting opportunity for an experienced Senior Quality Engineer to join our UAE Business Unit.

Key Objectives

1. To ensure that Company delivers a quality service that achieves the requirements of the client and complies with the relevant international/national codes and standards.
2. Ensure that the Company management system is adhered to and that all services and products are procured and inspected in compliance with client, industry, and Company requirements.
3. Mentor and coach colleagues on all aspects of quality in relevant business area to support a quality culture with relentless focus on excellence.
4. Engage with all levels of relevant business and client organization.
5. Manage a program of management system inductions for the project.
6. Address queries from customers related to quality documentation of products supplied.
7. Inspect and ensure compliance to quality of raw materials, parts in process, and finished products manufactured by vendors.
8. Prepare, review, and approve Quality Assurance Plan, Material Test Reports, Product Testing Reports, Final Product QC, In-process manufacturing quality.
9. Promote the awareness of quality concepts, promoting the review and challenge of working practices and methods to enhance performance.
10. Ensure that planned project, vendor, subcontractor, and internal quality audits are executed in accordance with the audit and review program.
11. Support in conducting root cause analysis of project nonconformities and technical incidents.
12. Attend kick-off meetings to provide QA/QC input.
13. Determine inspection level and requirements of product/material.
14. Review and approve product/material requisitions and validate QC requirements.
15. Provide Quality input to technical bid evaluations.
16. Review and approve necessary vendor and supplier documents including ITPs, NDE procedures and reports, Manufacturing Record Books.
17. Support 3rd party inspection coordination process and review inspection reports and release notes.
18. Review and approval of sub-contractor's and commissioning ITPs.
19. Review construction and commissioning work packs prior to site issue.
20. Conduct review of project technical queries and standard deviation requests.
21. Verify completeness of vendor and project documentation and support implementation of quality continuous improvement initiatives.
22. Ensure the closure of Quality requirements for project close-out.
23. Regular quality reporting as required and ensure the satisfactory reporting, tracking, and closure of project NCRs and Preventive Actions.
24. Quality input to project lessons learned and risk management sessions.
25. Assist in the maintenance, documentation, and deployment of the Company quality management system.
26. Ensure compliance of the Company management system with current and new legislation.
27. Support Management review and prepare relevant data inputs.
28. Develop and execute contract quality programs in accordance with Contract and/or Projects Execution Plan arrangements.
29. Monitor Engineering, Procurement, and Construction KPI's and act accordingly.
30. Support the development of Audit schedules.
31. Execute audits in accordance with approved audit schedules.
32. Facilitate incident investigations.
33. Attend project kick-off meetings as required to provide quality support and advice according to QA/QC deliverables.
34. Review and approve product/material requisitions and validate quality control and certification requirements.
35. Assign and coordinate product/material inspection activities in accordance with the specifications set out in purchase orders, datasheets, drawings, and client specifications/requirements, Inspection & Test plans.
36. Coordinate third party vendor inspection visits, review, and distribution of inspection reports.
37. Review and validation of quality control activities to verify product/service meets stipulated requirements.
38. Interface with appointed independent verification authority as required.
39. Facilitate and participate in the recall of defective materials/product to ensure quarantine and replacement as required.

QUALIFICATIONS

What makes you remarkable?

1. Degree in Mechanical Engineering.
2. NDE Level II (desirable).
3. Membership of CQI or country-specific Industry body (desirable).
4. Must be fully familiar with international codes & standards to be applied during Engineering and Procurement phase of projects.
5. Minimum 10 years in a QA/QC role in EPC Company engaged in Major Oil/Gas projects.
6. Middle East experience preferred.
7. Good planning and organizational skills.
8. Proficient in Microsoft Office.
9. High level of communication skills in both written and spoken format.
10. Analytical, Problem Solving skills, and Systematic thinking.
11. Demonstrated ability to work independently with good initiative and interpersonal skills.
12. Ability to work within multi-cultural workforces and environments.
13. Ability to be a good team player.
