Senior Quality Controller (Steelworks)
Location: GCC, GCC.

Qualification:

  • ITI or Trade Apprenticeship.
  • NDT and Quality related certifications would be an added advantage.
Department: Shipyard

Experience:
At least 3 years of experience as Quality Controller (Steelworks) in Shipyard with ship repair/ship building experience, or candidates of higher secondary qualifications with a minimum of 4 years of experience as Production Quality Controller in Shipyard.

Job Description

Conduct 'In process' and 'Post production' Quality Inspections, verification, monitoring, and control of project quality activities. Direct responsibility for Quality with project specifications, tender, work instructions, procedures, and manuals as appropriate.

  1. Conduct Quality Control Inspection activities following QMS standards/procedures.
  2. Guide the quality control team regarding inspections and quality requirements.
  3. Assist the Supervisor/Job Leader in planning inspection activities.
  4. Conduct quality awareness sessions for the workforce.
  5. Generate Inspection requests and coordinate with QSA for inspections.
  6. Monitor and promptly report any issues and delays to the supervisor.
  7. Conduct continual in-process inspections to minimize or eliminate rework.
  8. Assist the supervisor in preparing Inspection and Test procedures for assigned projects.
  9. Accept, reject, or suggest actions in case of failures on jobs.
  10. Act as a facilitator for the department's drive for continual improvement.
  11. Coordinate NDT activities at the site and assist in producing NDT reports.
  12. Generate inspection reports as per requirements.
  13. Conduct Quality walkthroughs and quality campaigns within the section.
  14. Raise hazard reports regularly as per Company Technology Solutions policy.
  15. Contribute ideas for improvement to the employee suggestion scheme.
  16. Prioritize the wellbeing of oneself and colleagues while maintaining a safe and healthy work environment. Adhere to all health & safety protocols, participate in wellbeing & wellness programs, and promptly report any concerns regarding wellbeing in order to foster a culture of best practice.
  17. Perform other related duties or assignments as directed.
