Job summary

Ethara in Abu Dhabi seeks a Senior QA Engineer with strong manual testing and modern automation skills to shape quality standards and drive automation excellence across development teams. You'll lead test strategy, design comprehensive test plans for web and API apps, perform functional, regression, and API testing, validate data with SQL, and integrate tests into CI/CD.

You will mentor teammates to raise quality across projects.

Qualifications

• Minimum 5 years of professional QA and software testing experience.
• Led or owned test strategies on at least 4 successfully delivered projects.
• Strong proficiency with Selenium, Cypress or Playwright.
• Hands-on API testing with Postman or REST Assured.
• Strong SQL skills for database validation and testing.

We're looking for a Senior QA Engineer who combines strong manual testing expertise with modern test automation skills to ensure the delivery of reliable, scalable, and high-performing applications. You'll play a key role in shaping quality standards, leading test strategy, and driving automation excellence across development teams.

Duration: 1 Year Contract

Job responsibilities include but not limited to:

• Lead the design and execution of comprehensive test strategies and automation frameworks.
• Develop and maintain manual and automated test cases for web and API applications.
• Perform functional, regression, integration, and API testing.
• Validate data integrity through database testing and backend verification.
• Integrate automated tests into CI/CD pipelines to improve release quality.
• Track and manage defects while communicating risks and quality metrics to stakeholders.
• Mentor QA team members and promote testing best practices across projects.

Candidate requirement:

• Minimum 5 years of professional QA and software testing experience.
• Experience leading or owning test strategies on at least 4 successfully delivered projects.
• Strong expertise in Selenium, Cypress, or Playwright.
• Hands-on experience with API testing tools such as Postman or REST Assured.
• Strong SQL skills for database validation and testing.
• Experience with Jira, TestRail, Zephyr, or similar testing tools.
• Familiarity with Git workflows and CI/CD environments.
• Experience using AI tools (e.g. Claude, GitHub Copilot, Cursor) to generate and accelerate test cases and automation scripts will be an advantage.
