Job Summary:
The Senior QC Engineer (Static Equipment) will be responsible for ensuring the quality and integrity of static mechanical equipment (vessels, heat exchangers, tanks, piping, etc.) during fabrication, installation, and commissioning phases of the ADNOC project. The role involves strict adherence to ADNOC, international codes (ASME, API, ANSI), and project specifications while overseeing inspections, tests, and compliance with quality standards.
Key Responsibilities:
Quality Control & Inspection:

  • Review and approve ITPs (Inspection & Test Plans), method statements, and quality procedures for static equipment.
  • Conduct visual inspections, dimensional checks, and non-destructive testing (NDT) such as RT, UT, PT, MT, and PMI.
  • Monitor welding activities, including WPS/PQR qualifications and welder performance.
  • Verify material certifications (MTCs) and ensure compliance with ASME Sec VIII, API 650, API 620, etc.
  • Oversee hydrostatic/pneumatic tests, heat treatment, and alignment checks for pressure vessels and piping systems.
Documentation & Compliance:
  • Maintain inspection records (RFIs, checklists, reports) and ensure proper QA/QC documentation turnover.
  • Ensure compliance with ADNOC COP, ASME, ANSI, API, and ISO 9001 standards.
  • Coordinate with third-party inspectors (TPI), clients, and contractors for inspections and approvals.
Defect Management & Reporting:
  • Identify non-conformities (NCRs) and lead root cause analysis (RCA) for defects.
  • Implement corrective/preventive actions (CAPA) and verify closure.
  • Provide daily/weekly quality reports to the QA/QC Manager and project stakeholders.
Audits & Supplier Quality:
  • Conduct supplier audits for fabrication yards and material manufacturers.
  • Review vendor documentation (e.g., fabrication procedures, NDE reports).
Qualifications & Experience:
  • Education: Bachelor s degree in Mechanical Engineering or related field.
  • Certifications: AWS/CWI, CSWIP, ASNT Level II (RT/UT/PT/MT), ISO 9001 Lead Auditor (preferred).
  • Experience: Minimum 7+ years in QC roles for static equipment in oil & gas (O&G) projects in UAE/GCC (ADNOC experience highly preferred).
  • Standards Knowledge: ASME Sec VIII, API 650/620, ANSI B31.3, NACE MR0175.
Skills & Competencies:
  • Strong knowledge of welding, NDT, and fabrication processes.
  • Proficiency in QC software (e.g., SAP, Aconex, Document Control Systems).
  • Excellent communication and leadership skills for client/contractor coordination.
