Senior QA/QC Engineer – MEP | UAE

ALEC is seeking a Senior QA/QC Engineer – MEP to lead quality assurance and control activities across mechanical, electrical, and plumbing systems in large-scale construction projects. Your Role

In this role, you’ll be responsible for overseeing QA/QC functions for MEP works from initiation to project closeout. You’ll coordinate with consultants, subcontractors, internal execution teams, and third-party inspectors to maintain compliance with specifications, local authority regulations, and project timelines. As a senior engineer, you’ll also lead a team of inspectors and engineers and contribute to the company’s broader digitization strategy.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead and coordinate daily QA/QC activities across assigned MEP packages with your team of inspectors and engineers
• Prepare and manage comprehensive QA/QC submittal schedules (materials, method statements, ITPs, MSRAs) aligned with project milestones
• Supervise Testing & Commissioning (T&C) inspections in line with the commissioning program, local authority requirements, and health & safety plans
• Monitor site work quality, initiate non-conformance reports when required, and work with stakeholders for timely resolution
• Conduct internal QA/QC team meetings to address quality challenges and implement preventative strategies
• Perform site surveillance and factory inspections to ensure subcontractor and vendor compliance
• Review and ensure subcontractor adherence to PQP, ITPs, and MSRAs
• Manage snagging and de-snagging inspections using digital tools and ensure documentation accuracy
• Collaborate on the development and implementation of corrective and preventive actions for NCRs and quality deficiencies
• Lead project QA/QC close-out deliverables, including O&M manuals, warranties, and spare parts
• Support DLP activities and address post-handover quality issues
• Develop and analyze Power BI dashboards to track QA/QC trends, risks, and KPIs
• Coach and mentor junior QA/QC personnel and support their ongoing development
• Promote and align all activities with ALEC’s Smart Goals and digitization initiatives

What You Bring

• Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering (or equivalent)
• 10+ years’ experience in building services, utilities, or large-scale MEP construction environments
• Strong knowledge of industry standards and local authority regulations
• Proven leadership experience managing inspection teams
• Familiarity with digital QA/QC platforms and Power BI reporting tools
• Excellent analytical, documentation, and communication skills
• Passion for quality, innovation, and continuous improvement

Execution Goals

• Achieve 95% first-time approval for WIRs and Material Inspections
• Ensure all tests and inspections are completed per ITPs and specifications
• Close 90% of NCRs within 14 days
• Reduce rework occurrences by 10% month over month
• Integrate all QA/QC deliverables with project program and milestone tracking
