• Ensure the overall quality, reliability, and functionality of software applications across web, mobile, and backend systems.
• Develop and maintain comprehensive test plans, test cases, and test scripts in alignment with project requirements and technical specifications.
• Lead the execution of various testing types including functional, regression, integration, system, and performance testing to detect and report defects early.
• Collaborate proactively with cross-functional teams—developers, product managers, and designers—to clarify requirements and resolve testing-related issues.
• Utilize industry-standard testing tools to execute manual and automated tests, and document results clearly and effectively.
• Contribute to the design, development, and maintenance of test automation frameworks to enhance testing efficiency and accuracy.
• Conduct thorough validation of software updates, hotfixes, and patches to prevent regressions and maintain product integrity.
• Perform root cause analysis for reported bugs, working closely with development teams to ensure timely resolution and validation.
• Test for application performance, scalability, and reliability under varying conditions, simulating real-world usage and stress scenarios.
• Identify opportunities for process improvements and lead initiatives to enhance QA / QC methodologies and best practices.
• Stay up-to-date with emerging trends, tools, and practices in Quality Assurance and software testing, sharing knowledge across the team.
• Design and implement advanced backend services and middleware aligned with business needs and modern architecture standards.
• Collaborate closely with Software Engineers, the Chief Software Architect, and Test Engineers to deliver a robust, efficient, and scalable product experience.
• Participate in code reviews, share constructive feedback, and maintain high-quality coding standards.
• Apply creative and solution-oriented thinking to address technical challenges and deliver innovative backend solutions.
• Conduct product experience testing using IoT devices in our lab environment, ensuring real-world performance and usability.
• Demonstrate a strong commitment to ethical standards, incorporating ethical considerations throughout the development lifecycle.
• Troubleshoot, triage, and resolve issues identified during QA and production use.
• Identify and address middleware and backend bottlenecks, and optimize platform performance.
• Stay current with backend development trends, tools, and best practices, and proactively integrate them into the development process.
• Communicate effectively with technical and non-technical stakeholders to ensure clarity, alignment, and accurate translation of business needs.
• Take ownership of backend documentation, including playbooks and runbooks, to ensure knowledge is shared and accessible within the team.
• Demonstrate a growth mindset by actively seeking development opportunities and embracing new challenges.

Qualifications and Experience

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related technical field.
• Minimum 5 years of experience in software quality assurance and testing, preferably in complex software environments.
• Proven expertise in designing and executing manual and automated test cases.
• Strong experience with test automation tools such as Selenium, Cypress, JUnit, TestNG, or similar frameworks.
• Proficient in writing and maintaining test plans, test scripts, and defect reports.
• Solid understanding of software development life cycle (SDLC) and software testing life cycle (STLC).
• Experience with functional, regression, integration, performance, and load testing.
• Familiarity with continuous integration / continuous deployment (CI / CD) pipelines and tools like Jenkins, GitLab CI, or Azure DevOps.
• Knowledge of bug tracking and test management tools such as JIRA, Bugzilla, TestRail, or similar.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with keen attention to detail.
• Excellent communication and teamwork abilities to collaborate with cross-functional teams.
• Experience in agile development environments is highly preferred.
