Job summary

List International Group in Abu Dhabi is seeking a Python Backend Engineer to design, develop, and maintain scalable backend systems powering our AI-driven SaaS platform. You will build secure APIs, work with REST and GraphQL, and collaborate with cross-functional teams to deliver reliable software.

The ideal candidate has 5+ years of Python backend experience, strong knowledge of FastAPI/Flask/Django, and hands-on experience with PostgreSQL, Redis, and Docker.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of professional Python backend experience.
• Strong Python proficiency and backend design.
• Experience with FastAPI, Flask, or Django.
• REST API and GraphQL design principles.
• Experience building scalable backend architectures.
• PostgreSQL and MySQL proficiency.
• NoSQL databases such as MongoDB or Redis.
• Familiarity with Docker and containerized applications.
• Knowledge of CI/CD pipelines.
• Experience with testing (PyTest, unit/integration).
• Strong debugging and performance optimization skills.

Responsibilities

• Design, develop, and maintain scalable backend services.
• Build secure RESTful and GraphQL APIs.
• Develop scalable microservices and distributed backend systems.
• Integrate third-party APIs including payments and CRM.
• Design efficient database schemas and optimize SQL queries.
• Work with PostgreSQL, MySQL, Redis, MongoDB and other storage tech.
• Implement authentication and authorization (JWT, OAuth2, API Keys).
• Write reusable, maintainable code following clean architecture.
• Build unit, integration, and API tests for reliability.
• Monitor, troubleshoot, and optimize production performance.
• Collaborate with Frontend, DevOps, QA, PM, and AI engineers.
• Participate in architecture reviews and code reviews.
