Job Description

AECOM has an opening for a pre/post contract MEP Senior Quantity Surveyor with a Mechanical Electrical or Quantity Survey degree and 10 years MEP post qualification work experience. Middle East experience is preferable.

The role location will primarily be based on the Dubai Head office but will require travel to client and/or site office throughout the UAE as necessary.

Pre-Contract
  • Assist with all aspects of MEP pre-contract services through concept, schematic and detailed design phases, inclusive of measurement, cost planning and production of BoQs for construction projects.
  • Assist with preparation of tender and contract documents.
  • Assisting in and contributing to value engineering and viability studies.
Post Contract
  • Assist in assessing, evaluating and making recommendations related to any financial claim and providing the necessary input with regards to settling such claims.
  • Assist in evaluation of all change management, including variations, additional works, field changes, additions and omissions, and incorporation of the same within the monthly cost reports.
  • Preparing and pricing Change Orders and negotiating agreement with the client and contractor as necessary.
  • Conducting viability studies and cost estimates.
  • Provide assistance to the team during negotiations, arbitration or any other forms of dispute resolution.
Specific Skills Required:
  • Excellent level of literacy skills in English
  • Working knowledge of industry practices
  • Excellent understanding of MEP quantity surveying practices, in particular pre-contract services
  • Good understanding of methods of measurement and measurement/billing softwares
  • Computer literate with excellent communication skills
