Job summary

Al Ghurair Investment LLC in Abu Dhabi is seeking a Senior Planner/Project Controls specialist to develop, maintain and update detailed project schedules coordinating with engineering, procurement, construction and commissioning teams.

You will monitor progress against baselines, prepare weekly and monthly dashboards, track critical path activities and provide look-ahead and recovery plans. Proficiency in Primavera P6 and MS Excel is required, UAE/GCC project experience preferred.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Construction Management, or a related discipline.
• 5–8 years of relevant experience in planning and project controls, preferably within engineering, construction, infrastructure, MEP, or EPC projects.
• Proven experience in developing and monitoring project schedules using Primavera P6.
• Experience in preparing baseline programs, look-ahead schedules, progress reports, recovery schedules, and schedule updates.
• Experience coordinating with multidisciplinary project teams, subcontractors, consultants, and clients.
• UAE/GCC project experience is preferred.
• Experience working on projects in Dubai and Abu Dhabi will be an advantage.
• Knowledge of contract planning, delay analysis, and extension-of-time principles will be an added advantage.

Responsibilities

• Develop, maintain and update detailed project schedules in coordination with project teams.
• Monitor actual progress against baselines and identify deviations and risks.
• Prepare weekly, monthly and periodic progress reports, dashboards, S-curves and histograms.
• Track critical path activities and near-critical activities to identify impacts on completion.
• Coordinate with procurement and construction to align schedules and track material/equipment delivery.
• Prepare look-ahead, recovery, catch-up plans and mitigation strategies as required.
• Analyze schedule delays and support time-impact analyses and extensions of time.
• Maintain records of planned vs actual progress and conduct progress reviews.
• Forecast completion dates and support management presentations and reporting.
• Ensure compliance with project procedures and contractual requirements.
