Senior Project Manager
Role focused on the effective operational delivery of Data Centre projects for the Digital Buildings Business (Digital Building monitoring and Controls). This is a hands-on, customer-facing position requiring collaboration with a multi-activity team and direct interface with contractors and end-users. The key objectives are to reduce risk, improve operational delivery, and ensure a seamless customer experience.
Job Responsibilities
- Conduct kick-off meetings and lead project meetings on-site to discuss project progress.
- Manage all project phases including detailed engineering, procurement, Factory Acceptance Testing, site cabling and installation, testing, and commissioning.
- Secure acceptance and approval of materials and documents from contractors, consultants, and stakeholders.
- Coordinate and communicate with project teams, customers, subcontractors, and vendors.
- Track project status reports, timelines, milestones, and deliverables.
- Ensure successful project closeout, including inspections, customer training, punch list completion, warranties, and smooth handover.
- Manage site installation and commissioning teams, ensuring presence on-site and adherence to project timelines.
- Develop project scopes and objectives with stakeholder involvement.
- Manage contract negotiations in cooperation with contract management and sales teams.
- Ensure resource availability and develop detailed project plans and schedules.
- Use verification techniques to manage scope, schedule, and cost changes.
- Prepare financial reports and present to management.
- Manage relationships with clients, VIP customers, and stakeholders.
- Perform risk management to minimize project risks.
- Drive new opportunities and variation orders during project execution.
- Create and maintain project documentation.
- Maintain good relations with customers and company staff, ensuring satisfaction and protecting company rights.
- Utilize monitoring tools to follow up on projects.
Job Requirements
- University degree in Electrical, Computer, or Software Engineering.
- PMP Certification is mandatory; Master’s degree is an advantage.
- Minimum 12 years of related experience, preferably in Data Centers and large critical buildings.
- Leadership skills in project management, with a strong motivation to learn new technologies.
- Proficiency in MS Office, MS Project, Primavera P6; experience with construction sites and MEP contractors.
- Knowledge of BMS systems, Schneider Electric, Siemens, Honeywell platforms.
- Experience with SAP/ERPs, technical specifications, and effective communication skills.
- Well-organized, result-oriented, proactive team player.
- UAE Driving License is mandatory; willingness to travel.
