The Senior Project Manager will play a critical role in overseeing and coordinating the successful delivery of a complex, multi-faceted project. This position requires a strategic thinker with a proven track record in project management, stakeholder engagement, and continuous professional development. The Senior Manager will be overseeing sub-projects and project managers, ensuring the alignment of project outcomes with business goals, and fostering a culture of collaboration and excellence among wider functions and teams, and with external partners.
Strategic and Operational Responsibilities:
Leadership and Strategy:
Develop and implement strategic planning.
Establish and communicate clear project goals, expectations, and deliverables.
Project Management:
Oversee the planning, execution, and delivery of the entire project.
Ensure all projects are delivered on time, within scope, and within budget.
Implement best practices, methodologies, and tools for effective project management.
Stakeholder Engagement:
Build and maintain strong relationships with key stakeholders, including senior executives, business unit leaders, and external partners.
Facilitate effective communication and collaboration among project teams and stakeholders.
Act as a primary point of contact for project-related inquiries and issues.
Performance Management:
Monitor and report on project performance, progress, and outcomes.
Identify and mitigate risks, issues, and dependencies.
Drive continuous improvement initiatives to enhance project delivery and operational efficiency.
Resource Management:
Allocate and manage resources effectively to ensure successful project delivery.
Develop and manage project budgets, forecasts, and financial reports.
Ensure the optimal utilization of personnel and resources.
Quality Assurance:
Implement and enforce quality standards and processes for project delivery.
Conduct regular project reviews and audits to ensure compliance with policies and standards.
Drive the adoption of innovative solutions and technologies to improve project outcomes.
Desired Candidate Profile
8+ years of professional experience (minimum of 2 years in the UAE) in a senior position within event project management, with a strong track record of successfully delivered events globally.
Hands-on knowledge of event operationalization and delivery.
Experience in project management and programme implementation for mega or large-scale events, with high-level delegations and VIPs.
Proven experience in the design and execution of online/hybrid events to a global audience.
Full understanding of (Mega) Event technical and operational requirements.
Event permits, regulations and procedures in the UAE.
Other specialist requirements.
Working knowledge of the exhibitions sector.
Strong leadership, problem-solving, and decision-making skills, especially in high-pressure and fast-paced environments.
Excellent communicator, with the ability to present succinct reports to a wide range of audiences (including high-level delegations and external partners).
Ability to develop robust strategies and implementation plans for ideas and project initiatives.
Ability to adopt a creative and innovative mindset to the operationalization, budget control, and creation of event experiences for stakeholders across sectors.
Diplomatic and discreet.
Proficient in project management tools and software (e.g., MS Project, JIRA, Asana).
