A leading company in Dubai is seeking a senior professional to spearhead business development efforts across Sub-Sahara Africa. Qualifications

Job description

1. Finding new business needs, seeds, and domains; establishing the business hypothesis; structuring the business model; and proposing them to create consensus and approval for development.

2. Developing new business in Sub-Sahara Africa across various sectors such as Agriculture & Food, Energy, Metal, Consumer, and Climate-related Business with a proactive and action-oriented approach.

3. Leading project team members of diverse nationalities and expertise, including staff hired by the company headquarters, regional staff, external partners/advisors, and employees of the company's affiliate companies.

4. Preparing necessary documents such as proposals, discussion papers with clients, and tender documents.

5. Reading documents and cash flow models, and creating summaries for sharing with the project team to lead the project effectively.

6. Creating and/or enhancing relationships with management levels of local companies and governmental organizations in line with the division’s direction supporting the General Manager.

7. Negotiating project documents with concerned parties.

8. Reporting the market situation in a timely manner.

9. Collecting and analyzing market information and proposing necessary actions.

Requirement & Experience :

1. At least 10 years of intensive experience in investment activities in Sub-Sahara Africa, especially in major countries such as South Africa, Zambia, Kenya, Nigeria, Ghana, Cote D’Ivoire. Preferably with experience in Private Equity, Investment Banking, or M&A advisory services in major consulting or accounting firms.

2. Bachelor’s degree in Business, Consumer Science, Agriculture & Food, or Energy. A Master’s degree is a plus.

3. Preferably a qualified chartered accountant or MBA from a Tier I B-school.

4. Ideally, experience as an associate in a top consulting firm (post-MBA).

5. Strategic framing & analytics: Ability to deliver rigorous, nuanced, and actionable recommendations, with insightful data analysis and synthesis to uncover customer and market opportunities.

6. Project management: Ability to plan and tightly manage the scope and lifecycle of projects while balancing multiple stakeholders.

7. Financial & quantitative analysis: Proven ability to conduct quantitative and qualitative analysis and develop financial models.
