The opportunity
We are seeking a motivated and enthusiastic Senior Project Manager to join our team. In this role, you will be leading, managing, and delivering large-scale government infrastructure projects, ensuring all related activities are performed in accordance with company policies, contractual agreements, quality standards, health, safety & environmental requirements, financial targets, and schedule commitments. You will also support the organization in process improvement to continually increase the effectiveness of project execution.
How you'll make an impact
- Oversee the end-to-end lifecycle of projects, including planning, budgeting, execution, and delivery, ensuring alignment with project goals and timelines. Develop comprehensive project plans and milestones, including resource allocation, risk assessment, and quality management. Manage planned activities and address schedule difficulties accordingly. Ensure a valid Project Safety plan is in place and executed to the highest industry standards.
- Serve as the primary point of contact for clients, consultants, internal project teams, and company management. Ensure clear communication and coordination among stakeholders, address project challenges, and maintain transparency. Manage client and consultant expectations for project success. Escalate customer difficulties with solution-oriented action plans. Ensure Hitachi Energy's commitments to customers are met as per the contract. Collect customer feedback and facilitate the submission of customer satisfaction surveys. Attend and facilitate client meetings and workshops.
- Provide guidance on technical aspects of design, construction, and commissioning. Collaborate with engineering teams to ensure compliance with client and industry standards, safety regulations, and project specifications.
- Prepare and manage project budgets, ensuring cost efficiency without compromising quality. Monitor financial performance (revenue, margin, cash flow), handle contract negotiations, and oversee procurement processes.
- Understand project/client terms and conditions and their impact on contracts. Lead contract management teams for effective contract and claim management, ensuring scope compliance and effective change management.
- Implement and monitor quality control measures to guarantee the delivery of high-quality outcomes.
- Present project status and issues transparently during reviews. Report progress to customers and stakeholders with appropriate detail. Raise potential project issues with relevant stakeholders.
- Develop a comprehensive risk management strategy, including early identification of project risks and defining mitigation strategies. Constantly monitor, reassess, and present risks during internal and external project reviews.
- Define and execute project procurement plans, coordinate with SCM department to issue purchase orders, and follow up on deliverables until completion.
- Lead and mentor project teams, fostering a culture of excellence, collaboration, and accountability. Identify skill gaps and provide training or hire resources as necessary.
- Ensure compliance with applicable external and internal regulations, procedures, and guidelines.

Your background
- Bachelor's degree in electrical engineering.
- 10 years of relevant work experience.
- Proficiency in project management methodologies.
- Demonstrated expertise in managing budgets, schedules, and cross-functional teams.
- Exceptional communication, negotiation, and problem-solving skills.
- PMP certification.
- Proficiency in spoken and written English.
