What you will do

The Senior Project Engineer is a key role reporting directly to the Senior Project Manager of Fire Protection Systems for the Middle East region. You will be based in Abu Dhabi and will be part of a growing team responsible for Fire Protection System projects within the Oil & Gas sector in the Middle East. Your responsibilities include preparing schedules, coordinating and monitoring engineering projects, reviewing compliance with NFPA codes & UAE life safety codes, QA/QC policies, performance standards, and project specifications. You will interact daily with clients to interpret their needs and represent them in the field.

As part of this team, you will work in a vibrant environment that provides a platform to utilize your experience in supporting presales and estimation activities.

How you will do it

With expertise in project execution and complex knowledge of firefighting system design—including Fire Protection (water-based systems), Gas Suppression, Foam, and Alarm Detection Systems—you will develop project objectives by reviewing proposals, plans, and conducting technical studies such as specifications, datasheets, operation philosophies, C&E matrix, procedures, etc. You will handle cost estimation and consult with management. Your role involves determining project specifications by studying design documents and customer requirements, managing project schedules by analyzing plans and specifications, and monitoring progress to resolve issues. You will prepare status reports, analyze trends, and recommend actions. Additionally, you will manage design, procurement, and installation activities within budget and schedule, aiming to exceed customer expectations.

Required

  • Bachelor's degree in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering
  • Minimum of 8-10 years experience in major fire fighting system projects within GCC countries
  • Strong technical knowledge of Fire Protection (water-based systems), Gas Suppression, Foam, and Alarm Detection Systems
  • Excellent client-facing and internal communication skills
  • Knowledge of project cost management, revenue generation, and invoicing
  • Solid organizational skills, attention to detail, and multitasking abilities
  • Experience in material ordering and vendor management
  • Experience in producing technical documents, drawings, and calculations for manufacturing
  • Work experience in UAE, Oman, Kuwait, or Qatar
  • Proven track record in cost estimation during design and development, recommending cost-effective solutions, and producing high-quality professional documents
  • Fluency in English
  • Valid driving license and ability to travel
  • Experience in revenue invoicing and cash flow forecasting
