Job description

RINA is currently recruiting for a Senior Project Engineer: Chief Resident Engineer (Railway System) to join its offices in the United Arab Emirates and Bangladesh within the Project Engineering Division.

Mission

We are seeking a dynamic and experienced Chief Resident Engineer Railway (System) with a strong interdisciplinary background in System Engineering, RAM, and Safety Assurance for large-scale railway and mobility infrastructure projects. The candidate will coordinate technical activities across multiple subsystems, ensure compliance with international standards, and support the integration of safety and reliability processes throughout the project lifecycle.

Key Accountabilities
  • Coordinate with Interface Management Lead Specialist.
  • Manage and supervise all railway electrical and system staff, including signalling, telecommunications, SCADA, OCC, AFC, PSD, PIS, PAS, TVS, ECS, Fire Protection Water and Drainage systems, substations, power distribution, overhead contact systems, rolling stock, depot equipment, etc.
  • Assist in ensuring design, specifications, standards, and codes proposed by Railway System Contractors comply with the Employer’s Requirements and Contract documents.
  • Coordinate among Contractors to establish design criteria for interfacing and integration.
  • Support the Client in contractor design interface coordination and recommend measures to mitigate conflicts and claims.
  • Arrange monitoring of Railway System Contractors and Subcontractors performance.
Education

Bachelor’s Degree in Mechanical or Civil Engineering.

Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s Degree in Electrical/Mechanical Engineering or equivalent.
  • Professional qualification as an electrical or mechanical engineer.
  • 20 years of professional experience.
  • Proficiency in English.
  • At least 10 years of experience in railway system works, including a large-scale (>USD 0.5 billion) underground/elevated metro rail project.
  • Minimum 5 years of experience as a Resident Engineer (Railway System) in an underground metro project.
  • At least 2 years of work experience outside the candidate’s home country.
