Responsibilities
  • Serve as a technical expert within the civil/structural engineering team to plan the design process and solve problems of large scope and complexity.
  • Assist Project Managers with fee development for civil/structural engineering portions of work.
  • Establish, design, and specify project-appropriate civil/structural engineering requirements.
  • Plan, organize, and direct the work of civil/structural engineers, EITs, and designers.
  • Attend client meetings and communicate with clients, consultants, contractors, and others during various stages of project development.
  • Conduct site investigations and observations.
  • Prepare narratives, reports, calculations, drawings, and specification documents in accordance with a high degree of quality, considering project schedule and budget constraints.
  • Facilitate cross-discipline discussions and coordination.
  • Review civil/structural engineering documents for quality and compliance with code and program requirements.
  • Participate in Construction Administration by reviewing shop drawings and submittals, responding to RFI’s, solving construction issues, and performing site visits to assess general conformance with the design concept.
Qualifications
  • ABET-accredited degree in Architectural Engineering with a civil/structural emphasis or degree in Civil or Structural Engineering.
  • Minimum 10 years’ experience in civil/structural engineering on a wide variety of projects within the A/E industry.
  • Registered Professional Engineer.
