Overview

We are seeking a Senior Project Controls Engineer to join our infrastructure supervision team in Abu Dhabi. The ideal candidate must have a proven track record of working with engineering consultants on major infrastructure projects such as highways, bridges, roads, and tunnels. The role involves managing cost and schedule controls, reporting, forecasting, and supporting project delivery across all stages.

Responsibilities
  • Develop, implement, and maintain project schedules, budgets, and cost control systems for infrastructure projects.
  • Review contractor’s baseline programs, progress updates, recovery plans, and provide detailed analysis.
  • Perform earned value management (EVM) and variance analysis to monitor project performance.
  • Prepare weekly and monthly reports, dashboards, and KPIs for internal and client reporting.
  • Collaborate with design, supervision, and commercial teams to monitor project risks, delays, and claims.
  • Evaluate contractor’s cost and time extension (EOT) claims and provide recommendations.
  • Support the project team in identifying opportunities for schedule and cost optimization.
  • Ensure that planning, cost, and reporting systems align with contract requirements and project goals.
  • Lead meetings with contractors and stakeholders on schedule, cost, and risk topics.
  • Provide inputs into project cash flow forecasts and budget reconciliation.
  • Participate in audits, peer reviews, and internal quality checks of project controls deliverables.
Qualifications
  • Bachelor's Degree in Civil Engineering, Construction Management, or a related field.
  • Minimum 12 years of experience, with at least 5 years in the UAE or GCC.
  • Strong background in project controls within a consultancy environment.
  • Proven experience in heavy civil projects—highways, roads, tunnels, bridges.
  • Proficient in Primavera P6, Excel, and project control/reporting tools.
  • Solid understanding of FIDIC contracts, cost management, and planning principles.
  • Experience in EOT claims, risk management, and cost analysis.
  • Excellent communication and reporting skills in English.
  • Ability to work under pressure in a fast-paced project environment.
  • Experience working with government or semi-government clients in the UAE.
  • PMP or PSP certification is a plus.
  • Familiarity with Aconex, Oracle ERP, or other project management systems.
  • Arabic language skills are an advantage but not required.
