Senior Procurement Officer-Jebel Ali Free Zone, Dubai, UAE

Location: Jebel Ali Free Zone, Dubai, UAE

Summary:

It is a Group of Companies is seeking a Senior Procurement Officer to support the procurement function in sourcing, negotiating, and purchasing goods and services necessary for manufacturing and distribution operations. The ideal candidate will manage supplier sourcing, negotiations, and ensure a seamless procurement process aligned with fast-paced FMCG and industrial sector requirements. This position demands strong ERP, Excel, and market analysis skills to optimize cost and maintain supply chain reliability.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Support the Procurement Manager in implementing sourcing strategies to meet production and operational needs.
  • Execute the full procurement cycle from requisition to delivery, ensuring compliance with company policies.
  • Source, evaluate, and recommend suppliers for raw materials, technical items, machinery, and indirect procurement needs.
  • Conduct RFQs (Request for Quotations), negotiate prices, terms, and finalize purchase agreements.
  • Monitor supplier performance to ensure timely delivery and adherence to quality standards.
  • Liaise with factory production, planning, maintenance, and logistics teams to manage procurement priorities across multiple sites.
  • Track material lead times and proactively mitigate potential supply disruptions.
  • Manage procurement-related issues such as quality claims and supplier disputes, escalating critical issues to management when necessary.
  • Maintain accurate procurement records, supplier databases, and contract files.
  • Analyse procurement data to identify cost-saving opportunities and support strategic sourcing decisions.
  • Prepare basic dashboards and reports using Excel and Power BI for management review.
  • Contribute to ethical sourcing and sustainability initiatives.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Procurement, Supply Chain Management, Engineering, Business Administration, or a related field.
  • CIPS certification (or progressing toward it) is highly preferred. Other certifications like CPP or CSCP are advantageous.
  • 6–8 years of UAE experience in procurement, including at least 3–4 years focused on FMCG manufacturing.
  • Strong negotiation, supplier evaluation, and vendor management skills.
  • Good understanding of logistics operations and Incoterms.
  • Expert-level proficiency in Microsoft Excel (pivot tables, VLOOKUP, advanced formulas, and data modelling).
  • Working knowledge of Power BI is preferable (for dashboard creation and procurement spend analytics).
  • Hands-on experience with ERP systems is essential, with preference for Oracle ERP.
  • Analytical mindset with attention to detail and strong reporting skills.
  • Ability to work under pressure and manage multiple priorities across multiple factories.
