Interface with cross-functional departments to develop and manage procurement budgets and plans for the sourcing of materials, ensuring optimal utilization and maximum cost savings.
Develop and implement procurement strategies for materials procurement, achieving cost reduction in procurement and packaging.
Participate in the development of specifications for equipment, products, or substitute materials; develop and implement purchasing and contract management instructions, policies, and procedures.
Carry out order planning, price negotiations, and coordinate with suppliers.
Identify new suppliers, agree on terms, and negotiate supply agreements where appropriate, including discount structures and volume rebates.
Continually improve purchasing methods to drive down external spend and align with IMS.
Conduct a comprehensive review of the Purchasing function, its methodology, and identify and implement improvements.
Evaluate new and existing materials with the technical and production department for successful integration into the production end of the business. Identify current and future trends in the global marketplace.
Devise an efficient logistics management system to ensure delivery of goods/shipments as per committed timelines and cost.
Prepare MIS reports of inward/outward logistics and apprise top management and users of routine inventory management activities. Assist in framing costing and proposals for logistic solutions.
Develop long-term partnerships with suppliers, manage day-to-day supplier performance to ensure meeting service, cost, delivery, and quality norms. Coordinate with suppliers for new product development and implementation.
Desired Candidate Profile
Bachelor’s degree in engineering, Supply chain or a related field.
6+ years of experience in handling Procurement preferably manufacturing industries dealing with chemicals.
