Job summary

Duncan & Ross Consulting is seeking a Senior Process Safety Engineer to oversee process safety activities during the FEED and Detailed Engineering phases of oil and gas projects in the UAE.

You will ensure compliance with API, ISO, ADNOC, and OSHA standards, lead hazard analyses, and guide safety case development while mentoring junior engineers and coordinating with multidisciplinary teams.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Chemical Engineering or related field.
• Minimum of 10 years in process safety engineering for FEED and Detailed Engineering in oil & gas.
• Strong knowledge of API, ISO, ADNOC, OSHA standards.
• Proven track record delivering process safety solutions in large EPC projects.
• Experience with hazard analysis tools such as HAZOP, SIL, LOPA, and risk assessment techniques.

Responsibilities

• Lead process safety activities during FEED and Detailed Engineering for oil & gas projects.
• Develop and review process safety design docs (P&IDs, HAZID, HAZOP, SIL, LOPA).
• Conduct risk assessments and safety reviews ensuring compliance with standards.
• Provide safety input into design philosophies, fire protection strategies, and safety-critical equipment selection.
• Coordinate with multidisciplinary teams to integrate process safety into overall design.
• Perform consequence modeling, risk assessments, and safety case development for major hazards.
• Ensure adherence to international and regional safety standards (API, ISO, ADNOC, OSHA).
• Participate in client meetings and liaise with regulators as needed.
• Support incident investigations, root cause analysis, and corrective actions.
• Develop and mentor junior safety engineers.
