Wood is currently recruiting for a Senior Process Safety Engineer position for a PMC downstream project.

The Key Objectives For This Role Are
- Executing assigned scopes of work
- Supporting and supervising task delegation to team
- Providing discipline expertise to the business
- Participating in project HAZOP, HAZID, SIL studies, and safety workshops as required
- Providing sound technical advice and solutions to technical problems within the discipline
- Coordinating with other disciplines during all design stages
- Providing technical support to site as required
- Producing and reviewing specifications, data sheets, schedules, study reports, and design calculations, ensuring compliance with quality standards
Responsibilities
Key Accountabilities and Responsibilities:
- Attend client meetings and communicate issues with lead engineer as required
- Maintain positive and professional interactions with team members
- Adhere to and provide feedback on discipline-specific procedures for continuous improvement
- Participate in audits and incident investigations as required
- Maintain own competence through continuous professional development
- Stay informed of relevant regulatory frameworks, legislation, initiatives, and industry technology developments
- Have thorough knowledge of Technical Safety engineering methodologies, software, and design practices related to FEED, detailed design, construction, commissioning, and start-up
- Be aware of international codes and standards
- Experience with design deliverables related to loss prevention scopes
- Experience coordinating HAZOP, HAZID, SIL classification studies
- Experience managing Management of Change (MOC) reviews
- Able to perform Physical Hazard Effects (PHE) modeling as required
- Able to review Quantitative Risk Assessments (QRA) as required
- Deputize for lead engineer when necessary
- Execute personal objectives
- Manage third-party engineering suppliers
- Be flexible and adaptable
- Maintain a strong commitment to safety

- BSc, BEng, or equivalent with extensive relevant experience
- Experience in Concept / FEED projects
- Strong background in downstream and petrochemicals
- Minimum of 15 years relevant experience in the oil and gas industry
- Minimum of 6 years proven capability in process safety within an EPC company
- Experience working with multinational and multicultural project teams is preferred
- Previous experience in the Middle East is an advantage
