Job description

Job Summary:

We are hiring a Senior Process Engineer with strong technical expertise in oil train facilities and crude oil processing systems. The ideal candidate will lead process engineering activities across all project phases including FEED, detailed engineering, and commissioning.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead the design and development of process systems for oil train facilities (separation, stabilization, dehydration, and export).
  • Review and approve PFDs, P&IDs, mass & energy balances, process datasheets, and control philosophies.
  • Oversee process simulations using Aspen HYSYS, PRO/II, and other tools for system modeling and optimization.
  • Supervise the preparation of equipment sizing calculations and provide technical input during procurement.
  • Conduct and lead HAZOP, HAZID, SIL, and other safety studies with multidisciplinary teams.
  • Provide technical guidance to junior process engineers and coordinate with other engineering disciplines.
  • Resolve technical queries (TQs), interface issues, and ensure timely closure of all process-related deliverables.
  • Review and validate vendor packages, P&ID integration, and FAT/SAT participation.
  • Support pre-commissioning, commissioning, and start-up activities at site.
  • Ensure full compliance with Iraq local standards, API, ASME, IEC, and project-specific requirements.
  • Act as the primary process engineering focal point for client and site teams.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Chemical Engineering or equivalent; Master’s degree is a plus.
  • Minimum 10–15 years of relevant experience in oil & gas process engineering, with at least 5 years on oil train or crude handling projects.
  • Proven experience in Iraq-based projects is highly advantageous.
  • Strong expertise in process simulations, heat & mass balance development, and fluid handling systems.
  • Proficient in Aspen HYSYS, Flare System Analyzer, Flarenet, PipeSim, and other engineering software.
  • In-depth understanding of process safety, pressure relief systems, flare systems, and operational reliability.
  • Excellent communication, leadership, and coordination skills.
