A leading firm in the Oil and Gas industry is seeking a Senior Mechanical / Process Engineer to join their Dubai team. This role involves performing mechanical and process design tasks, ensuring project completion on schedule and within budget, while demonstrating strong analytical skills and effective coordination. The successful candidate will have a minimum of 10 years of relevant experience, including expertise in CCPP projects and familiarity with various standards. Qualifications

• Minimum 10 years of mechanical/process design experience in CCPP.
• Experience with CCPP projects, including performance, optimization, equipment calculation, PID, and general arrangements.
• Proficient in process system design for CCPP and capable of leading full project design execution.
• Independently completed mechanical/process design for thermal engineering on at least 3 CCPP power plants in the Middle East, including one H-Class.
• Expertise in at least 3 mainstream OEM technologies (e.g., GE 9H, Siemens SGT5-8000H gas turbines).
• Experience with HAZOP is preferred.
• Familiar with American, European, and Saudi standards.
• Self-motivated, proactive, with strong organizational and problem-solving skills.

Responsibilities

• Responsible for bidding activities, feasibility studies, basic and detailed design for projects.
• Plan overall thermal mechanical/process discipline design, including design planning, regulation development, contract breakdown, risk identification, and design criteria formulation.
• Prepare technical documentation such as P&ID, equipment sizing calculations, specifications, design descriptions, equipment lists, BOQ, control logic, commissioning procedures, etc.
• Plan and optimize power island layout.
• Prepare vendor evaluation and technical bid evaluation reports.
• Coordinate with other disciplines and understand interface points between them.
• Work with owners, engineers, and vendors for timely approval of documents and participate in meetings.
• Provide on-site support to resolve issues and ensure project completion within schedule and budget.
• Train team members on CCPP knowledge regularly.
• Maintain records of document revisions and prepare comment resolution sheets.
• Develop discipline standard documents, templates, and drawings.
• Document lessons learned from projects to improve future deliverables.
• Lead the team to complete engineering tasks efficiently, demonstrating good organizational skills.
• Assist in preparing design guidelines, developing internal processes, and creating a design library.
• Perform self-checks to ensure quality in accordance with QA/QC standards.

Job Overview :

Senior Mechanical / Process Engineer will perform mechanical and process design tasks, including basic and detailed engineering design, as well as resolving technical issues for a Combined Cycle Power Plant (CCPP). The role requires strong analytical skills, effective interdisciplinary coordination, and good organization. In addition to design responsibilities, the engineer should support the Lead Engineer in resource planning, proposal work, man-hours estimation, budget control, and work progress reporting. Key activities include (but are not limited to):

Key Responsibilities
