Wood is currently recruiting for a Senior Process Designer focusing on carry out assigned process design work for a major onshore brownfield project in Sharjah, UAE.

This is a full-time onsite position in Sharjah, UAE, with possible travel.

The role
This is an exciting opportunity for an experienced Senior Process Designer to join our UAE Business Unit.

Our Clients and Projects
Wood has been awarded an Onshore Brownfield project to support an International Client operation for delivering FEED, Detailed Design, Procurement, Construction, and Commissioning Services. This project focuses on enhancing degassing stations, optimizing flare systems, and integrating low-carbon solutions to support our client’s energy transition and emissions reduction goals.

Key Objectives

• Carry out assigned Process design work as part of a multi-discipline project team.
• Perform site surveys and data gathering exercises at various project locations as per business needs.
• Provide discipline specific design and drafting services that meet the Project’s, and applicable statutory and regulatory, requirements.
• Proficient in P&ID As built activities.
• Produce 2D drawings in AutoCAD.
• Knowledge of SPPID is preferable.
• Preparation and checking of all types of Process design deliverables such as BFDs, PFDs, P&IDs, MSDs and Process Safeguarding Diagrams.
• Assist in the preparation of line lists and tie-in lists.
• Assist in the coordination of all activities related to the discipline.
• Promote safe behavior at all times.

Expected

• Diploma in Chemical Engineering.
• Minimum of 10 - 14 years relevant experience in the Oil and Gas industry.
• Previous experience working on Iraq projects is preferable.
• Previous Wood experience preferred.
• Previous experience of working in the Middle East would be an advantage.
• Proficient in the use of AutoCAD, Aveva, SPPID.
• Experience in Conceptual, FEED and Detailed Design is required.
• Experience in the preparation and coordination of Process design deliverables.
• Compliance with industry, international and Client Codes and standards.
• A determination to continually improve safety in all aspects of plant design and operation.
