Job summary

Basatin Landscaping SPLLC is seeking a Planning Engineer to develop and monitor project schedules, ensuring timely and quality delivery. You will forecast, analyze risks, and support contractual compliance while mentoring junior staff and improving planning methods.

Responsibilities include creating WBS, look-ahead schedules, updating programmes with site progress, preparing progress dashboards, and coordinating with construction, engineering, and procurement teams to manage schedule slippages

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in engineering, Construction Management, or related field.
• 4–6 years of progressive planning and scheduling experience.
• PMI-SP, PSP or PMP certifications desirable.
• Proficiency in Primavera P6, MS Project and MS Office.

Responsibilities

• Develop work breakdown structures (WBS), activity logic, calendars, and durations.
• Prepare look-ahead schedules (2–4 weeks) aligned with site execution.
• Update programmes based on actual site progress.
• Collect progress data from construction managers and subcontractors.
• Measure and update physical progress (% complete) and critical path activities.
• Prepare weekly and monthly progress reports.
• Prepare progress dashboards, S-curves, and histograms.
• Coordinate with construction, engineering and procurement teams.
• Identify schedule slippages and notify senior staff.
• Maintain planning logs and progress backup documents.
• Ensure consistency between programme, reports, and site status.
• Archive planning submissions and approvals.
• Attend internal coordination meetings; support client/consultant meetings; issue inputs for MOMs.

• The Planning Engineer is responsible for assisting in development and leading in monitoring, and control of project schedules to ensure timely, cost-effective, and quality delivery of projects.
• The role provides expert planning, forecasting, and risk analysis to support strategic decision-making and contractual compliance.
• In addition, the role mentors junior planning staff and contributes to the continuous improvement of planning processes, tools, and methodologies, supporting the organization’s overall performance and long-term growth.

Roles, Responsibilities, Duties

Education & Qualification:

• Bachelor’s degree in engineering, Construction Management, or related field (Master’s preferred).
• Professional certifications such as PMI-SP, PSP, or PMP are highly desirable.
• Additional training in project controls, risk management, or contract administration is an advantage.

Proficient in Primavera P6, MS Project, and MS Office Suite.

Experience and Skills:

Industry Experience (No. of years):

• Minimum 4–6 years of progressive experience in project planning and scheduling within the construction, infrastructure, facilities management, or engineering sectors.
• Demonstrated track record of managing schedules on large-scale, multi-disciplinary projects with complex timelines, resource demands, and contractual requirements.

Position/functional experience (No. of years):

• At least 3–5 years in planning role, with hands-on expertise in baseline development, resource loading, critical path analysis, risk management, and claims/delay analysis. Proven ability to mentor junior engineers.
