Job description

1. To work with all project disciplines to supervise and ensure understanding of total project schedule needs and

integration of schedule activities.

2. To supervise project schedule, manpower and quantity reporting and to ensure the preparation and presentation of the Critical Items Action Report.

3. To supervise project schedule analysis and studies of problem areas to determine criticality of schedule activities and recommend alternatives for schedule improvement to project team for discussion and/or decision.

4. To interface with project site management and client counterparts for specific planning and scheduling tasks.

5. To provide comments and recommendations for planning and scheduling requirements relative to staffing and project control.

6. To assist with implementation and operation of McSIS when applied to a project operation and monitors work productivity against established norms.

7. To participate in developing and presenting designated subjects in training classes and on-the-job training programs.

8. To assist in performing some cost engineer functions as required.

Desired Candidate Profile

· Experience in performing, monitoring, and reviewing Planning & Scheduling functions in Steel Manufacturing and Fabrication Shops and Home Office.

· Demonstrated ability to plan, organize, direct, perform, review, and present project plans and schedules to the team members. This includes planning and scheduling independently with minimal supervision using a high level of professional judgment and knowledge related to technical planning and scheduling skills and engineering design and Steel Fabrication and Production practices.

· Level of knowledge of engineering, procurement, contracts, Steel Fabrication / Production, and startup work processes.

· Knowledge of engineering and production management customarily acquired over time through specialized instruction or practical experience.

· Have the capacity to supervise a team of Planners for an extensive period of time as part of normal project work duties i.e. not for short periods of crisis management.

· Minimum 10 to 12 years of experience and at least 5 to 8 years of experience in project controls for EPC projects.
