Job summary

TIS GmbH seeks an experienced Piping Lead Inspector for a long-term assignment across Dubai and Berlin, to act as Client/Owner's Representative for offshore HVDC platform piping. Role covers verification, FAT, yard inspection, commissioning, and international supplier surveillance.

Required are welding/NDT certifications, 8+ years in piping QA/QC, and fluency in English. The position offers on-site Dubai work, remote work, and travel between Dubai and Berlin.

Qualifications

• Welding engineer qualification or certified welding inspector (IWI/CSWIP 3.1) required.
• ISO 9712 Level 2 NDT certification required.
• Minimum 8 years QA/QC inspection of piping fabrication, installation and testing.
• Experience as Lead Inspector or Client Representative on offshore projects.
• Fluent English in speaking and writing (C1).
• Willingness to travel internationally and be based long-term in Dubai.

Responsibilities

• Review and verify contractor evidence against Employer's Requirements.
• Comment on contractor/supplier documents (ITPs, FAT, commissioning procedures).
• Maintain piping inspection register and define hold/witness points.
• Witness valve FATs and perform related tests.
• Inspect pipe spools, supports and prefabricated components before shipment.
• Verify material certificates, PMI records, coatings and traceability docs.
• Conduct surveillance visits at international sub-suppliers.
• Inspect Dubai yard fabrication, welding, NDT, surface prep and coating.
• Review test packs and witness hydrostatic/pneumatic/leak tests.
• Witness flushing, drying and reinstatement of systems.
• Plan inspection coverage and coordinate client inspection team.
• Raise NCRs and track corrective/preventive actions.
• Carry out mechanical completion inspections and review punch lists.
