Job summary

TIS GmbH seeks an experienced Instrumentation Lead Inspector to act as Client/Owner's Representative for a 2 GW HVDC offshore platform project. Responsibilities cover verification, FATs, yard and offshore commissioning across Dubai and Europe, with travel to suppliers worldwide.

Requirements include 8+ years in QA/QC for instrumentation, offshore experience, and fluent English. The role involves long-term assignment from December 2026, split between on-site Dubai, remote work, and Berlin.

Qualifications

• Degree or certificate in electrical, instrumentation or measurement and control engineering
• Minimum 8 years in QA/QC inspection or commissioning of instrumentation and control systems, offshore or marine experience preferred
• Proven experience witnessing instrument FATs, calibration checks and loop checks
• Proven experience leading a team of inspectors
• Experience as Lead Inspector or Owner's Inspector on offshore substations or HVDC platforms
• Experience in FAT witnessing and surveillance at international sub-suppliers
• Experience in mechanical completion, pre-commissioning and commissioning
• Fluent English, minimum C1 (spoken and written)
• Valid work and travel permits for Europe and UAE; willingness to travel extensively
• Knowledge of relevant standards (EN 54, IEC, NORSOK etc.)

Responsibilities

• Review contractor evidence against Employer's Requirements and recommend verification status
• Review and comment on contractor and supplier documents including FATs, calibration and test procedures
• Define client hold, witness, review and monitoring points; maintain the instrumentation inspection register
• Assess Technical Queries, deviation requests and supplier NCRs
• Witness FATs for instrumentation packages (flow, pressure, level, temperature, switches, analysers)
• Witness calibration, functional, interface and communication tests
• Verify Ex certification, IP ratings and CE documentation
• Carry out surveillance visits at international sub-suppliers and during E&I support fabrication
• Inspect Dubai yard for cable trays, glands, terminations and Ex/IP compliance
• Witness insulation resistance, loop checks, interface tests and cause-and-effect tests
• Report HSE non-conformities; participate in safety walks and reviews
• Plan inspection coverage and coordinate client inspection team
