Job description

We are looking for qualified candidates for the position of Sr. Piping Engineer for one of our PMC projects in Abu Dhabi.

Responsibilities:

  • Having single-point responsibility for all Piping engineering deliverables and ensure that they conform to all applicable engineering codes and standards as well as the Client’s policies and procedures including AGES (ADNOC Gas Engineering Specifications) and DGS (Design General Specifications).
  • Manage and report progress of all Piping engineering design budget in line with contract requirements.
  • Manage engineering and design resource requirements in line with contract requirements.
  • Ensure compliance with management of change processes both technical and financial.
  • Provide technical support to Minor & Major Brown (upgrade/revamp) and Green field ADNOC Gas Projects.
  • Experience in Electrical Power Generation and Distribution System Projects (all phases until commissioning).
  • Provide technical support/review of electrical documents/drawings including but not limited to Power system studies (Load flow, short circuit, motor starting, relay setting & coordination, transient stability studies etc.), electrical calculation (UPS, TX, Switchgear, Cable Sizing), SLDs, Layouts etc.
  • Provide direction and guidance on technical queries relating to piping engineering and raise appropriate EQ’s/deviations.
  • Participate in all project safety and design reviews as necessary.
  • Ensure that all work is completed without compromise to quality and is delivered according to the project schedule.
  • Promote safe behavior all the times to achieve 100% HSE.
  • Provide sound technical advice and solutions to a diversity of technical problems within the discipline.
  • Co-ordinate with other disciplines during all stages of design development, construction, pre-commissioning, and start-up.
  • Provide technical support to site in terms of material inspection, Factory Acceptance Testing etc.
  • Assist in the coordination of all activities related to piping engineering network.
  • Identify any areas of concern with respect to progress and/or quality and recommend corrective actions as required.
  • Attend weekly progress meetings and generate status reports for the Engineering/Project Manager.
  • Promote and encourage smarter ways of working and champion continuous improvement within your department.
  • Ensure all lessons learnt are captured and shared.
  • Conversant with the typical software packages that are used for Piping system design and selection including MS Office, Smart plant, ETAP, Dia lux etc.
  • Confirm the 100% HSE define & execute stages.

Qualifications:

  • Degree qualification in Mechanical Engineering.
  • 15 years of overall relevant experience including minimum experience of 8 years in oil & gas industry.
  • Minimum of 6 years’ experience in a similar role with PMC.
  • Thorough knowledge and understanding of the fundamentals of piping system design and analysis.
  • Well versed with ADNOC VAP implementation during the project Define & Execute Stages.
  • Knowledge of Work to Permit System (WMS) in the Oil & Gas industry.
  • Thorough awareness of international codes and standards.
