Our client, an international Operating company, is currently seeking a Senior Piping Engineer for a major project in Iraq, working from their office in Abu Dhabi.
Job role will include:
- Piping and process valves engineering supervision and coordination with EPC contractors,
- Project and cost management in liaison with other disciplines,
- Preparation of technical papers to support management decisions with regulatory authorities and partners,
- Coordination of deviation requests ensuring timely processing with regard to cost and schedule,
- Participation in key project reviews including plot plan, HAZOP, constructability, and design/model review meetings,
- Review of piping and valves documentation according to industry standards and codes, such as drawings, 3D models, stress analysis reports, MTOs, isometrics, etc.,
- Ensuring compliance with technical rules on construction discipline and international norms in piping & valves,
- Ensuring interface clarity and correct engineering across disciplines,
- Focusing on safety, constructability, and operability of the design,
- Supporting technical queries and derogations related to project specifications,
- Evaluating deliverables from the design contractor, including drawings, calculations, and procedures,
- Managing interfaces with other EPC contractors,
- Monitoring progress and delivery of engineering work,
- Supporting HSE objectives and implementing HSE management systems.
Accountabilities include:

- Providing discipline expertise,
- Participating in project studies and piping workshops,
- Providing technical advice and solutions,
- Coordinating with other disciplines during all project phases,
- Providing technical support on-site and to affiliates,
- Producing and reviewing specifications, data sheets, schedules, and calculations,
- Communicating issues in CTR meetings,
- Maintaining professional interactions with team members.
Experience required:
- Advanced expertise in PVV in oil & gas projects, especially for onshore fields,
- Experience across all project lifecycle stages (FEED, Basic, Detailed Engineering),
- Knowledge of oil & gas piping and valves materials, design, manufacturing, and testing standards,
- Familiarity with international piping & valves codes (e.g., ASME B31, B16, ASME VIII, ASTM, API, ANSI),
- Proficiency in piping software and vibration assessment tools (e.g., PDMS/E3D, Caesar),
- Expertise in stress calculation and reporting,
- Experience in sour gas service design,
- Ability to guide technical compliance and bid proposal formulation,
- Good communication and interpersonal skills,
- Standard expertise in fabrication, NLG design, SRU design,
- Minimum 10+ years of experience.
