Job description

Our client, an international Operating company, is currently seeking a Senior Piping Engineer for a major project in Iraq, working from their office in Abu Dhabi.

Job responsibilities include:

• Supervision and coordination of piping and process valves engineering activities related to EPC contractors.
• Project and cost management in collaboration with other disciplines.
• Preparation of technical papers to support management decisions with regulatory authorities and partners.
• Coordination of deviation requests to adhere to project standards, considering cost and schedule.
• Participation in key project reviews such as plot plan, HAZOP, constructability, and design/model reviews.
• Review of piping and valves documents in line with industry standards, including drawings, 3D models, stress analysis reports, supports, MTOs, and isometrics.
• Ensure compliance with technical rules and international norms in piping and valves construction.
• Define and engineer interfaces with other disciplines clearly.
• Focus on ensuring the design is safe, constructible, and operable.
• Support technical queries and derogations related to project specifications.
• Evaluate engineering, procurement, construction, and installation deliverables from the design contractor.
• Coordinate with other EPC contractors and monitor the progress of engineering work.
• Adhere to HSE requirements and support the project’s HSE objectives and systems.

Accountabilities include executing work scopes, supervising team tasks, providing discipline expertise, participating in project studies and workshops, offering technical advice, coordinating design development, supporting site activities, producing specifications and calculations, and maintaining professional communication.

Experience required:

• Advanced expertise in PVV within oil & gas projects, especially for onshore fields.
• Experience across all project lifecycle stages (FEED, Basic, Detailed Engineering).
• Knowledge of oil & gas piping and valves materials, design, manufacturing, and testing standards.
• Familiarity with international piping & valves codes (e.g., ASME B31, B16, ASME VIII, ASTM, API, ANSI).
• Proficiency in piping software and vibration assessment tools (e.g., PDMS/E3D, Caesar).
• Expertise in stress calculations and sour gas service design.
• Ability to provide technical guidance ensuring compliance with specifications and bid proposals.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
• Standard expertise in fabrication, NLG design, and SRU design.
• Minimum 10+ years of relevant experience.
