This is an exciting opportunity for an experienced Senior Piping Designer (SP3D / E3D) with a proven track record in creating detailed piping design layouts and 3D models using Smart Plant 3D (SP3D) software to support engineering and construction projects for a high-profile client.

The key objectives for this role are:

  • Creating accurate and detailed piping design layouts and 3D models using SmartPlant 3D (SP3D) software.
  • Collaborating with engineers, architects, and other stakeholders to ensure designs meet project requirements and specifications.
  • Ensuring all piping designs comply with relevant industry standards, codes, and regulations.
  • Maintaining comprehensive design documentation, including specifications, isometrics, and piping plans.
  • Conducting thorough reviews and quality checks of design work to ensure accuracy and reliability.
  • Incorporating innovative design solutions and staying current with advancements in piping design tools and techniques.
  • Addressing and resolving design-related issues and challenges that arise during the project lifecycle.

Expected:

  • Diploma in Mechanical Engineering with minimum of 15+ years of experience
  • Offshore experience is mandatory
  • Sound knowledge of manual and CAD draughting techniques
  • Software skills like AUTOCAD, MICROSTATION, etc is mandatory
  • 3D Software skills like E3D and SP3D is mandatory
  • Aware of and able to use codes of practice, standards, and relevant sections of statutory documentation as applicable to draughting function
  • Aware of and able to use COMPANY and CLIENT standards
  • Able to create base design drawings / models from agreed work scope with minimal guidance
  • Ability to accept delegated responsibility for designated tasks
  • Experience in acting as a focal point / Self checking / checking of others work

Key Accountabilities and Responsibilities:

  • Good all - round knowledge of Piping design with Brownfield offshore experience and Smart Plant 3D modelling and reviewing software
  • Execute design and draughting activities (Concept, Front End Engineering Development, Technical Study and Detailed Design)
  • Prepare sketches, Piping drawings and designs from agreed work scopes with minimum input from engineering personnel
  • Achieve safety standards as defined in personal performance contract
  • Responsible for assessing effectiveness of working practices and systems with a view to continuously improving systems, personal and team performance
  • Carry out site surveys
  • Ensure, as far as is practically possible, that all assigned work is carried out in compliance with the agreed budget and schedule
  • Maintain required technical quality of work
  • Keep up to date with technical developments, national and international standards and legislative requirements related to discipline work scope
  • Maintain filing system
  • Encourage and provide lateral learning within project
  • Provide technical assistance to discipline assigned personnel as required
  • Assist Lead / Senior Engineer and others when requested in the execution of their responsibilities and duties
