Job summary

Client of Mark Williams is seeking an experienced Oracle Data and Database Engineer to build, run and optimise enterprise data platforms on Oracle Cloud in Abu Dhabi. The role covers database administration, data pipelines, analytics development, and performance tuning.

The candidate should have strong SQL/PL SQL skills, scripting in Shell and Python, and experience with high-availability environments and change control. Oracle Cloud certifications are a plus.

Qualifications

• 7+ years in Oracle database administration and data engineering.
• Strong SQL and PL/SQL performance tuning experience.
• Exposure to OCI or Analytics Cloud platforms is a plus.
• Scripting in Shell and Python in Linux/Unix environments.
• Experience in regulated high-availability environments with change control.
• Oracle Cloud certifications are advantageous.

Responsibilities

• Administer and support Oracle databases across environments, including patching, upgrades, backup, recovery, and DR.
• Build ETL/ELT data pipelines and integrations between Oracle Fusion and other systems.
• Develop data models, dashboards, and reports using Oracle analytics tools.
• Tune SQL/PL SQL and resolve performance issues; assist capacity planning.
• Apply security controls and maintain accurate documentation for audits.
• Provide L2/L3 support, root cause analysis, and controlled change delivery.
