Job summary

Astra ProMed in Abu Dhabi seeks a Consultant Oncologist/Hematologist with Bone Marrow Transplantation expertise to join a leading healthcare facility. The role focuses on managing hematologic malignancies, solid tumors, and post-transplant care within a multidisciplinary team.

Qualifications

• Medical degree MBBS/MD or equivalent.
• Postgraduate qualification in Hematology, Hematology-Oncology, or Oncology.
• Board certification or equivalent consultant-level qualification.
• Fellowship or advanced training in Bone Marrow Transplantation / Hematopoietic Stem Cell Transplantation is highly desirable.
• American Board, UK CCT, Canadian, Australian, European or other internationally recognized qualifications are highly desirable.
• Minimum 5-10 years of relevant post-specialization experience preferred.
• Eligible for the DOH Consultant specialty classification/license in Abu Dhabi with BMT privileges.

Responsibilities

• Diagnose and manage hematological malignancies, solid tumors, and complex blood disorders.
• Evaluate and treat leukemia, lymphoma, multiple myeloma, anemia, and other hematological conditions.
• Develop individualized treatment plans including chemotherapy, immunotherapy, targeted therapy, and supportive care.
• Assess eligibility for HSCT and BMT.
• Manage patients undergoing autologous and allogeneic stem cell transplantation.
• Monitor transplant-related complications (GVHD, infections, graft failure).
• Interpret bone marrow biopsies, flow cytometry, molecular testing, and imaging.
• Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams across oncology and hematology.
• Participate in tumor board and transplant committee meetings.
• Provide counseling, long-term follow-up, and post-transplant care.
• Ensure compliance with DOH regulations and treatment protocols.
