Job summary

Wood in the United Arab Emirates seeks an experienced Construction Manager to lead on-site activities, ensuring projects finish on time, within budget, and to safety and quality standards for a high-profile client.

With Wood's global Oil, Gas & New Energies platform, you will oversee multidisciplinary teams, manage contractors, and drive execution across major capital projects while maintaining robust safety and operational discipline.

Qualifications

• Minimum 20 years Oil and Gas industry experience, including ≥5 years on major capital projects.
• Experience within an Oil and Gas operating company is highly desired.
• Excellent communications skills, both written and verbal, in English.
• Willing to travel extensively for multi-week periods and adjust work location as needed.
• Qualified to obtain a CICPA and a UAE work visa.

Responsibilities

• Responsible for construction and contractor related deliverables.
• Supervises all areas on small projects or a subset on larger projects.
• Manages multiple field disciplines and executes work per contract and company policies.
• Executes work in accordance with project quality standards and requirements.
• Monitors and controls project cost and schedule for assigned scopes.
• Oversees installation, commissioning and completion activities.
• Coordinates field schedules to maximize utilization and on-time delivery.
• Ensures safety, quality and environmental responsibilities are clearly defined and communicated.
• Provides inductions and ongoing safety training for workers.
• Initiates safety, quality and environmental processes per Wood requirements.
• Coordinates with engineering to influence design for constructability.
